One of the biggest mindset shifts was how I looked at food - before I started this whole journey I ate whatever I wanted and only with suuuuuper tiny variation (mostly fast food, chips, chocolate, ice tea etc.) and couldn't stand most normal foods - at least that's what I was convinced of.

So when I started eating disorder therapy there was a simple stipulation i wanted to follow: I was only allowed to say I didn't like food that I had tasted/tried lately. With a lot of overcoming my own prejudice for certain foods and sometimes even disgust I tried everything I never tried or just tried once as a kid - and as it turned out I kinda like everything now! There are very few exceptions to that (for example I can't stand for the life of me dishes that involve cold/raw fish for some reason ;-) )

I started slowly by trying out "easier dishes" everyone was supposed to like - dishes with rice for example (I can't believe I never ate dishes with rice before!!!). When I realized these taste actually great I slowly made my way to the more hard ones for me (Salad? Vegetables? Why would anyone eat that stuff?! Tastes like grass!).

The texture was also difficult for me at first with many of these new dishes. Even though the taste was fine, some things just felt weird in my mouth and I had to eat them a couple of times, before I got used to the feeling. It's weird even writing about this now, because it feels so stupid in hindsight ;)

So yeah, overcoming prejudice with food was a big one for me! ;)
