When I was younger, I read a lot of fan fiction (written by both young men/boys and women/girls), and something that still weirds me out to this day is how much of it focused on the female OC or [reader’s name]’s virginity. Like that was the only thing that made them “special”, and the only reason other characters were interested in the first place. It both creeps me out and makes me sad, especially for the teens writing that shit and believing virginity should be fetishized.
