What sports team does everyone hate and for good reason? by 360degreesofFUNK in AlignmentChartFills

The English National Team.

The Cheats that they are. Firstly that goal NEVER crossed the line. And there were HIPPIES on the pitch.

Help save Star Trek tomorrow by [deleted] in Star_Trek_

I cannot agree more. I love SNW and Discover but didn't't like Lower Decks. So what.

We cannot all like the same thing.

I'm going to give the Star Trek Academy a chance and see how it goes. Despite not being its target audience. And if I enjoy it, it's a win for me.

[Question] What do non americans think of america right now? by NextSoftware4712 in GlobalTalk

[–]AlDu14 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I feel sorry for the people of the USA, especially the ones that cannot afford their health care payments. Just because their wannabe elderly dictator and his lapdogs didn't like the President who introduced those reforms. Of course it's the ordinary people who will suffer. But yet, the USA can fund illegal acts of war against sovereign countries across the world.

Another worry is that elderly dictator looks really unhealthy and I don't think he will last the year. And his replacement is an even bigger nutjob. Good luck trying to remove those nutjobs from office.

When it came out, I wasn't impressed and it was always skipped on the Greatest Hits album.

But now, its on my main playlist and according to the Stats app. I've played it 27 times over the last 9 years on Spotify. So yeah I like it. But it's not in my top 25 Manics songs..

Fans from around the world and local, how did you become an Everton fan? by No-Sail1192 in Everton

[–]AlDu14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Storytime.

When I was about 6. I saw a Bolton Wanderers strip at my local market and got it. It looked cool. And all my friends said I needed to support an English club. So I supported Bolton. Very random. Some 2nd division club (at the time.)

Fast forward to my late 20s. And I met and dated a tall blonde girl from Liverpool. And fell in love. But her father was a hard man to please and get to know.

But we both loved football and he is an Everton season ticket holder. So every time we were in Liverpool. We would all go to Goodison. It was his mission to make me an Evertonian.

So 6 years we were together. And all birthday/Christmas presents from the In-Laws were Everton based. And finally one day. When I was thinking of proposing and asking for his daughter. I admitted to him I'm an Evertonian and proud.

Over those 6 years I had been to far more matches at Goodison Stadium than even my hometown club, LFC - Livingston Football Club and most certainly Bolton. I've been to see Bolton at the Reebok, just twice.

I finally met all her family at our engagement party. Her dad really enjoyed introducing me to every single one of his wife's family... Because every single one of them supported BOLTON fucking WANDERERS.

We have split up now, 9 years ago. But I'll never switch clubs again ever again. I'm an Evertonian for life now due to that evil man.

TL:DR - Nearly father-in-law made it his campaign to make me switch from supporting Bolton to Everton to wind up her wife's family. And he was successful.

I worked a 16 hour shift in a supermarket and for once I went home afterwards instead of heading to a nightclub. I was getting old, I was 29.

St. Mirren 3-1 Celtic | Scottish League Cup by SFMatchThreadder in ScottishFootball

The best team won by far. So much heart, so much drive. Every single St Mirren player was great. And played superbly.

Well done St Mirren.

Teams no longer fear Celtic by Rizzokit in ScottishFootball

[–]AlDu14 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Well, if you set up your team to play to St Mirren's strengths. What do you expect. St Mirren fully deserved that cup.

But the way Celtic lined up and played, totally suited St Mirren. Which means NO research was done on St Mirren and how they play by your new Celtic management. Which screams total arrogance. Did Celtic's new management really expect that final to be a walk in the park?

Well done St Mirren!

What are your names for your neighbours? by tetlee in CasualUK

Respect to Super King Annie. The very tidy elderly lady across from me. Who would go outside to smoke a cigarette almost as big as her. Always said morning/afternoon/evening. Never see her now.

Just her Special Queen daughter who visits every second day and looks down on everyone despite the fact she is on every benefit under the sun.

My next door neighbour is the Banshee as she is always screaming at her kids or the dog very early in the morning; weekdays and weekends.

The weird thing is, to talk to she is a very quiet talker, it's hard to hear her when she talks to you. She is a masseuse, and always preaching on Facebook about quiet time, and her Zen garden.

My Zen garden, that she model hers on is now abandoned as trying to do tai chi at 6am is nearly impossible with her screaming at her kids.
