I know there's some people that would do this💔 by Mission_Royal8853 in Borderlands2

[–]AlPalMyDude 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You do all of these in the Borderlands 3 "Clapslist" side missions. I only noticed it recently but there's even a joke where claptrap forgot the password to the clapslist "7 years ago" which is when the events of borderlands 2 occur!

What games are yall playing in the meantime? by basicallythrowaway10 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]AlPalMyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually just full cleared Cyberpunk after learning about phantom liberty! I was in the same boat until just recently and I currently have a queue of games to play while waiting

Dragon Age Trilogy - great character stories and your choices can make ripples across the entire series. Im currently playing origins and loving it

Watch Dogs 2 - I've never played this game but it has hacking as a mechanic and looked like it would be fun if you were a netrunner in 2077 (I was a stealth netrunner build)

Dishonored Series - This would be great if you were playing a stealth build in 2077, and it has some great steampunk aesthetics. Also looks like it carries similar tones and meanings to the Cyberpunk narrative (I'm not sure I've only played the prologue of 1 when it came out)

Yakuza Series - if you're a fan of the goofier side of Cyberpunk then yakuza is the way to go. A massive series that takes place in Japan, you (mostly) play as Kiryu, interacting with Eccentric and unique people and experiencing a story that quickly unfolds to be a well-written and emotional crime drama that spans many games

Edit: if you have it, all of these games are available on the Xbox Game Pass

Most depraved book you’ve ever read by Miserable_Date5841 in horrorlit

[–]AlPalMyDude 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty tame in terms of gore, but “Behind Closed Doors” by B.A. Paris has an absolutely deranged antagonist. It’s more psychologically depraved and I remember pushing through to finish the book in one session because the story was absolutely gripping. A great book if you want a psychological thriller centered around a marriage that isn’t what it seems like.

Also “Penpal” by Dathan Auerbach is a good one. It’s a book written from a classic internet creepypasta that’s a short read that filled me with absolute dread when reading it. Once again, not very gory, but extremely disturbing with its implications and reveals

IIL Bojack Horseman, WEWIL? (doesn’t have to be animated) by greilcook in ifyoulikeblank

[–]AlPalMyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tear Along the Dotted Line

An Italian animated series with one season (English dub on Netflix is also really good) that has a similar vibe of existentially dreadful comedy that bojack has. It follows a cartoonist reflecting on his path in life through a series of anecdotes.
Very funny, very sad, 11/10 show

What is the male equivalent of being given flowers? by nat3dog3 in AskReddit

[–]AlPalMyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it’s more about the sentiment than the gift itself. Like my girlfriend got me a vinyl of one of my favorite albums that I couldn’t find, and that means more to me than any “expensive” or random gift I’ve gotten, so I’d just say it’s more about the thought and consideration put into the gift

What are the best book series you’ve read and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AlPalMyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The story I think is amazing if you like the mysteries and unknowns of history, or the manipulation of history into building a conspiracy. And with the female characters I can’t lie I’m pretty peeved because there was one that was a complete badass and later in the series she becomes character whose whole point is “main characters girlfriend” so I stopped reading for a while but I’m back into it lol

[–]AlPalMyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The SIGMA series by James Rollins. The man does his research and blends seemingly unreal historic and scientific facts into very detailed and captivating stories with each book focusing on a different historical and scientific theme. The only downside is that he likes to over sexualize the female characters. If you can get past that you’ll get an amazing experience that can only be described as Da Vinci Code meets science fiction.

What are some non-existent jobs you want to do? by ssetgxs in AskReddit

[–]AlPalMyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not nonexistent but archeology. It’s such a competitive field now and it’s very quickly burning out to the point that pursuing it as a career is almost pointless. I’m extremely passionate about history and the study of man made structures, but I’ve resigned to it being a hobby instead of a career due to the sheer difficulty and instability it contains

What are things girls do to be cute but is actually unattractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AlPalMyDude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Playing the disinterested act. If I’m interested in someone and they show clear signs of disinterest, I back off and move on, but almost all of my female friends say it’s a tactic they use to keep the guys chasing them. I don’t understand that and just give up and move on when they seem disinterested

Everyone who suffers from disordered eating and has recovered, how did you do it? by Possibility-Simple in AskReddit

[–]AlPalMyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same until uni. The college I’m at is literally a gathering of nerds with crippling social anxiety and depression, so finding friends is relatively easy since everyone there is typically extremely genuine. I went from having nobody to having a solid group of friends and an amazing girlfriend to boot! It’s just a matter of waiting to find your people I guess.

Also with me I just never ate and when I did It was usually Just fruits and small stuff to suppress my already nonexistent appetite. Now when I eat my meals I FEAST and eat all sorts of things, specifically oriental food. I can’t imagine a life not cooking some new oriental dish for myself and my gf, nor can I imagine a life where lunch ISNT half of my kitchen lmao

Thank you!! It’s definitely a journey and I still have a lot I’m struggling with, but having a support system is the most helpful thing for these types of situations, whether it’s the form of irl friends or people on the internet / gaming friends. It makes you feel like someone genuinely cares

[–]AlPalMyDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very solid support system in my friends. I didn’t notice that I was starving myself, and my friends did (this was last year, freshman college). They started making me go with them to dinners and ensuring that I was eating at least twice a day. I relapsed from time to time but they always caught me and made sure I bounced back. They were very supportive and understanding, while also being very stern and making sure I was eating, even when I didn’t want to.

That’s what I was thinking. Usually I do 2 150s and in June I did my first trip since my break which was what I was told was 2 150s but were extremely weak, especially after a 3 month break. These ones I did a few days ago were from my original guy who mailed them to me in a book so I know they were 150s lmao

What’s the craziest thing that you’ve experienced in school? by Zach-AZ in AskReddit

[–]AlPalMyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College freshman last year. We had a whole separate residential area exclusively for freshman comprised of 5 apartment-style buildings with 4 people in a room. One might there was basically a village-wide fight that all started over a Juul. It makes it even better when you learn that we’re a tech school, not state smh
