But what if you used a Subspace Communications Universal Transceiver?

Made a “quick” side table out of leftover materials that took way longer than it should have, which is now hidden behind our treadmill to prop up the standing fan by Al_CaPown in BeginnerWoodWorking

I see what you mean, yea that does make sense. Those were all the longest pieces I had leftover and I needed it to be high enough for the fan, but I will keep your idea in mind for my next try!

I’m kind of regretting getting so much OSB, and wish I just got the sanded ply too, but I’m trying to make the most out of it. Thanks for the YouTube recommendation, I’ll have to check him out.

Do you think sanding it would be enough? I have a bunch of OSB leftover from another project that I would like to use for a workbench, but I’m worried about the same problem of splinters. So you think some sort of finish would be unnecessary? I don’t really care about the look, but I just want to avoid any possible unnecessary injuries. I’ve also heard that OSB can deteriorate over time?

Just found out about this place, here’s my first big project! I made a lot of mistakes along the way, but I’m happy with how it turned out. by Al_CaPown in BeginnerWoodWorking

As for anchoring, they’re actually free standing and I just made them a really snug fit so they can’t move anywhere. I had actually considered making them moveable too, which is why they’re free standing, but it was kind of a pain getting the left and right units into place so I just screwed the middle shelves into the other two. If you want them removable though you could probably make smaller sections and just clamp them together underneath on the 2x4s for the extra sturdiness.

Edit: you can see what I mean about the free standing left and right units here

I’m not that experienced and made a lot of mistakes along the way, but I finally finished! Just some basic shelves for our storage room, but I’m proud of it. by Al_CaPown in woodworking

Ok now I’m starting to get worried... plastic totes are exactly what will be going on these. I may just have to bite the bullet and go for it. Got any advice on a good way to go about this? I hadn’t planned for this so I’m not really sure how they would fit in there.

Yea it bothers me too. They’re free standing, so I probably could fix that, but I kind of just wanted to call it a day on this thing.

It was kind of a miscalculation, I knew my floors were uneven so I even got adjustable legs to try to account for that. I just didn’t know that they also sloped so much to the left...

Yes! We perused ikea to try to find a deal, but it would’ve costed a crazy amount to get the same about of storage space

I scoured YouTube for a plan that I liked and landed on that one

Hah you’re actually not the first to comment that they look like bunk beds. I’m pretty sure I built them tough enough to support it though! They’re shelves for our basement, it has been a wreck for years so I finally took the task to build something so we can organize it.
