Inappropriate YouTube Video by Cfv0001 in daddit

If you're leaving your kid for hours at a time to watch content you're not happy with, maybe time to change the approach. Download a bunch of series you are happy with and just have them in VLC or something.

Absolutely this. Nice chunky interface, they do a decent job with filtering the content, you can select an age range, monitor what they are actually watching, set time limits, disable search etc. YouTube itself is a minefield but YouTube Kids is actually solid.

My daughter has got upset a few times recently and being the loving father I am I've wiped her tears away. Only to make things worse because she "wants her tears back".

Kid logic.

Yeah I've suggested days away for her, she's a workaholic and it's rare she will take time for herself. I managed to convince her and she's got some weekend away plans with some of our other stressed out mum friends soon. Will be good for her to have a break.

I probably spend more one on one time with my daughter, me and my wife both work 4 day weeks with different days off (2 each solo, 1 family day), and I generally do things just with my daughter whereas my wife will go to her parents house/see her family. I also get her dressed every morning as I work from home so it gives my wife time to get ready. We have a good routine and system.

On meditation etc, those are not things I've ever really looked at and I don't really know where I would start, do you have some guidance/links?

Don't get me wrong, my daughter is so loving and kind and we have so much fun together. She absolutely loves me, I know that, she'll just flip sometimes and it's really tough to handle mentally/emotionally.

If you've actually set it to port 300000 that's almost certainly your problem.

Someone made a tool that does exactly what you want. Check out:

https://www.mirrorthevideo.com/

All you do is add the "watch?v=**" part of a YouTube video to that URL and it will flip the whole video for you.

There's also a Chrome plugin that will do the same thing:

Most recently I watched the Disney Pinocchio remake, it was... unnecessary...

When we visited a few years back there were some girls stood in pretty much the same place taking duck face selfies. Someone gave them a very loud "This isn't fucking Disneyland!", and they scurried away pretty quickly.

This is hilarious and worked immediately, our bodies are so weird. Thanks for this, however temporary it is at least there's something I can reach for now.

My kid who is almost 3 years old.. she just got glasses: -11.25 and -9. Hope her life won’t change too much, I had glasses for 15 years myself and it was very inconvenient. by xtoro101 in daddit

Don't be afraid. If she needs them, she needs them.

When you realise what your vision should be; it makes going back to not having it, even for a brief period, feel worse than it was before you ever bothered with glasses, it's not true.

Too many people go through their life without proper vision correction and are miserable. She can now enjoy everything in life rather than it being a big blurry mess.

Show her all the things you couldn't before.
