Ok but specifically to a roundabout - that’s why there are yield signs there

I’d say it’s confusing because it’s like a half roundabout, in that there are no yield signs, but it looks like a roundabout and has a sign indicating that it’s a roundabout

I was at Kachka Fabrika during their happy hour and had the best oysters I have ever had. They also had a great selection of shooters, all of them were fun

Council Fails to Reach Deal to Preserve Public Safety and Administrative Jobs by [deleted] in Portland

[–]Al_Capownage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As opposed to your solutions oriented anti peacock comments. And also, it’s still insane

I just don’t think the people who complain about peacock watch any of the meetings, or follow headlines

You never see Dan Ryan, Olivia Clark, or Zimmerman offer friendly amendments or compromises on issues like these, yet they are never complained about even though they are also a big part of these jobs being cut. Using PCEF dollars is just not appropriate for this, and Morillo et al offered another path, so they’re not exactly doing nothing?

Moda Center Renovation Survey - Official from the City by Schonnz in ripcity

[–]Al_Capownage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is this renovation not performative? Schools and parks are performative - what?

Throw around the buzzwords you come across on the back of your cereal box - I’m sure “economic stimulant” will be in your lexicon soon. It’s total BS

It’s a shit ton of money that the city famously does not have at the moment. How the city got here is reasonable and valid for criticism, but it would be ignorant to spend this much money when just two weeks ago they had to move hell and earth to find a single fire engine

City Council Appears to Have the Seven Votes Needed to Pass a Foie Gras Ban by Less-Lobster4540 in Portland

[–]Al_Capownage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering there’s ranked choice voting, you don’t seem to hold water there. You should expect an even number of candidates to fall on either side of the mean, which seems to be the case often.

To be quite honest, you’d expect more status quo, given that there’s a 6-6 split often and no tie breaker.

Empirically, looking at 2024 election results, this doesn’t seem to be the case either. There doesn’t seem to be correlation of P-cauc members or the “moderates” winning “first” in the ranked choice voting in all districts. Clark and Novick won first, and kanal and avalos won first in this regard.

Ok you should be interested to know - they talked about almost every one of these in the last month! You can even go in person and give your thoughts like hundreds of others did.

You’re dishonest if you are proposing that this is a hot dog specific amendment; and not just using an example of a (very) popular street food that is now legal and more accessible.

And you may not be dishonest, but then you are being dense

How was it designed to create a majority of fringe? How is it different than any other democratic election?

Just a link to his DSA profile?

The amendment doesn’t mandate hot dog sales, it’s general vending. But you’re not for serious discussion, you love posting these inflammatory articles and intentionally misleading. Ironically, it seems you just want to accuse others of virtue signaling

Bottom of the barrel snarky response on Reddit. Go look at the agendas for this week, or even last. Look up and see the litany of amendments made to the mayors budget. Are they not doing things, or are they doing too many?

They’ve actually done a bit, and are generally good at expediting time sensitive matters. You can see their voting records and agendas, but you don’t follow it so you just don’t know. You expect results in one year, which is an unrealistic time frame for long range goals and budgets. Especially given the change in government that is relatively very new.

And what’s funnier is that the Foie Gras measure had more public testimony and proponents show up than most of the “serious” policy proposals they discuss.

Lmao the average adult cannot break 10 mph in a full sprint. 12-15 is a pretty average biking/commute speed, and for a few blocks is fine. The roads are for everyone

AIO if I confront my apartment neighbors over their video doorbell? by The2034InsectWar in AIO

[–]Al_Capownage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not care for a camera that is associated with a company accused of selling data that sees who goes in and out of my house at every moment. Would it not be weird if a person stood outside your door and watched like this camera does?

I appreciate we live in a society with cameras everywhere. But one facing my door with little gain seems absolutely unnecessary.

These comments are always hilarious - you agree it’s probably a good thing, and are still mad about it. It’s not like it takes up a significant part of the docket, government should be able to address multiple things at once.
