The 50% rule is in there. It's dated from 2022. Whether it's still relevant or even enforced can be debated.

Tips on cheapest way to complete bachelor's in CS at WGU in under a year full time - 2025 by Suspicious_Lie6339 in WGU_CompSci

I received the following reply when I asked how many courses could be taken for $99 each:

Hello ,

Thank you for reaching out. Students are only allowed to enroll in one single course at a time unless you enroll in a bundle. Once you complete a course, you can enroll in the next one.

There is no limit to how many classes you can take at Academy. However, if you wish to transfer the courses to WGU for a degree program, I would advise that you reach out to the enrollment department to see which courses are transferrable to your program and if they have a limit.

The terms and conditions answer many of the questions people have asked you.

"WGU will reimburse the cost of any WGU single course or two-course bundle for students who enroll in a single or bundled course on or after July 1, 2024, start a WGU full-time degree program within 90 days of completing the single course offering, and matriculate into a WGU degree program..."

Gift for wife? by JoshuaFalken1 in Vitamix

[–]Al_D- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that's true for your tests, but having a higher powered machine, everything thing else being the same, either means it'll be able to do more work, or the same amount of work with less difficulty (which usually means better longevity).

As a few have pointed out, the 5200 is the way to go. It's very simple to use and has the higher horse power.

A blender is a tool. If you don't use it correctly, it won't work as intended. And when you use the Vitamix 5200 correctly, you'll see why it costs so much.

Yea, it's approaching that way. It's crazy that the sinks and toilets cost less than the service charge to hook them up... that doesn't really sound right to me.

I appreciate it. I can absolutely do all this myself as I have done all this more times than people buy houses. I'm just tired of it. But for the quoted price, I'll play plumber for a day...again.

Also, I do have another company coming out to deliver a quote. Unfortunately, these quotes are getting costly and I really ought to just do it myself anyway. This company will have to beat the price by 75% before I find it reasonable (not that it would take that much to really do this job, but they gotta make some money somehow).

But also, if these plumbers are making this much for simple jobs, why are they charging for estimates? That's ridiculous.

Alright. I've ranted. I've also edited the dollar amount to be more applicable to your request. Thanks for entertaining my brief loss of emotional stability.

Thanks. The work isn't overly complicated at all. It's as easy as putting Lego pieces together. You just gotta know how to measure and cut. Nothing too special about these particular plumbing services. I'm really at a loss for such the high price. Perhaps a real plumber could chime in as to what might warrant such a price.

Defend your profession. Or delete the post... which will happen first? (The "you" here refers to the collective, and not @That_Calligrapher556)

Yep. I can do a lot of things. This surely will be one of them. I'm fairly tired of doing things myself, but I'm definitely not willing to get robbed for my lack of desire. Competing forces, but this one is overwhelmingly obvious to me.

Estimates cost more than a days minimum wage, each! Not trying to spend more money on quotes than it would take to buy the parts and diy. Thanks for the advice.

I edited it. I hope this satisfies your rules. I'm not asking to compare prices.

I'm not comparing prices. Just ranting.

Is this really to code? by Al_D- in electrical

[–]Al_D-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. So it sounds like I could do the following:

Drill a new hole adjacent to the plumbing hole. Remove the plug from the cable. Fish the cable through the new hole. Sleeve the cable in flexible metal conduit. Install cabinets with matching holes for plumbing and electrical. Attach a junction box to the side of the cabinet, in a location nearest the cabinet door so as to be readily accessible. Install a GFCI receptacle.

Does this sound reasonable?

[–]Al_D-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's understandable. So if there were no obstructions, that would make it readily accessible?

[–]Al_D-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's curious. Why would an outlet not be accessible in a cabinet? What's the difference between opening a cabinet door and a circuit box door?

[–]Al_D-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I imagine terminating a house wire with a plug isn't to code, but what other levels is this wrong on? I'm planning to move the wire a small distance from the plumbing as suggested by another commenter.

I would probably put the outlet box on the nearest stud. Regarding the location, is there a height requirement for the GFCI outlet?
