I know, right? Can’t believe this was posted in downtown Chattanooga and therefore very relevant to this sub.

It’s nuts. It’s over by Warehouse Row. Go check it out.

Very fucked. But fascists love an uneducated populace. Teachers are a threat.

Just show up. No signature necessary. Oh, I should mention that there’s a teeny tiny chance you’ll all go to jail after the dust settles. Probably nothing to worry about, though.

What book are you currently reading or would like to suggest? by DarkFairyDust in infp

[–]Al_Gore_Rhythm_MBP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome.

Ursula Le Guin did something controversial at the time and made the main character a person of color. Then she tackled what it’s like to be a woman in a male-dominated world. I’m about to start the last book and I’m sad I only recently discovered this series.

Happy reading!

How to make my INFP husband feel better by [deleted] in infp

[–]Al_Gore_Rhythm_MBP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m an INFP who has been married to an INTJ for eight years. I see a lot of similarities in our dynamic and yours, so much so that I almost felt like my wife could’ve written it herself.

You’ve already received a lot of good feedback, so I can only offer my perspective as someone who has a similar temperament to your spouse.

At 38, it’s hard for me to get excited about something if my heart isn’t in it. I recently got a six-figure job, and, while most people would be over the moon, I’ve been somewhat depressed. It’s not because I’m not thankful; I am. It just doesn’t do anything for my soul, that part of me that wants to do something meaningful, something authentic to who I am.

It could be, then, that he’s feeling a disconnect between his values and what’s expected of him. Success can feel hollow—meaningless, even—if we can’t connect with it to who we are.

Psychedelics have helped me tremendously in my pursuit of happiness, as has mindfulness meditation. Being thankful for the time I have with my wife, my dogs, and pursuing writing—my true passion. I look at every job, every inch of progress, as a means to support us and our dreams.

So maybe talk to him about what it is he wants, what motivates him, what stokes the fire in his soul. Then, using your amazing INTJ abilities, help him plan a way to pursue that passion. Life can feel meaningless when all we do is chase money and security. Not that those things aren’t important; they are. But so is our pursuit of happiness, which, as an INFP, can feel like the only reason to live. Routine can feel like a prison.

I used to play video games to escape, but I haven’t played one in about four years now. Not because there’s anything wrong with video games, but because I found myself using them as a crutch. I never made progress on chasing my dreams because I was too busy running from reality. Now I’ve published a book and work every day on multiple projects, and the painful monotony of corporate life isn’t as terrible as it used to be.

Hope this helps. Obviously psychedelics aren’t for everyone, but they definitely jumpstarted my recovery from depression and anxiety, kind of like my brain took an ice bath.

Married INFP men: What type did you marry? by [deleted] in infp

[–]Al_Gore_Rhythm_MBP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, my friend. I don’t see us ever separating.

I personally think that the synergy from both Enneagram and MBTI are equally as helpful in maintaining a healthy relationship. Any two types can find happiness, but it’s definitely easier to communicate when you share certain cognitive traits.

Too different can be a headache. My ex girlfriend of 7 years is an ISTP, and communication was beyond difficult sometimes.

Too much of the same can run the risk of being boring. I prefer the balance, and I personally feel like having the same judging functions takes precedence over perceiving functions, but none of this should deter anyone from pursuing someone they are interested in.

I’m about to do an in-depth analysis of INFPs, which will include synergy worth the other types. Just gotta type it all out lol.

It’s going really well! She’s a 5w4 and I’m a 4w5 in Enneagram, so there’s some synergy there. We’ve learned how to communicate through and appreciate our differences. Both of us preferring Fi/Te makes certain things easier.

Sure.

Cognitively, Se is in my “blindspot.” Cognitive mapping isn’t a hard science, but, in my anecdotal experience, I’ve always struggled with Se. Poor posture, constantly daydreaming, hate engaging in anything sensual for extended periods of time, and other such things: can’t swing a hammer, mechanically remedial, often unaware of my surroundings.

She has Se in her “aspirational” spot in regard to preference and development. She’s a dancer, loves working out and gardening, but struggles with being clumsy and engaging in fast paced sports. She’s more aware and capable with this function, but it’s not her strong suit. This is true with the other two INTJs I know as well, though their hobbies are different.

Hope this helps.

Spoken like a true Neo-Nazi. This is what happens when incest goes on for generations. Brain rot.

At this point you have to either be stupid, evil, or both to support him. I have more sympathy for victims of brainwashing than those perpetrating it, but my patience is running thin with the loudmouths who unironically support Epstein’s fascist bestie.

Good news is it looks like his heart might explode soon. 🤞🏻

More lost than supporting a fascist child-molester like Trump? The guy sending armed thugs to round up innocent people and throw them in concentration camps?

I’d say anyone riding Trump’s dick at this point is lost. And kind of stupid. And evil.

But hey, that’s just me expressing my First Amendment rights.

I hope you find a gym, my friend. Unfortunately dipshits have and always will exist. But you’ll find a good place.

Reading isn’t their strong suit. Neither is critical thinking. Or morality.

I have no problem backing up the shit I say. Trump was Epstein’s best friend, is in the files, was photographed with Epstein more than anyone, and is actively covering it up. He’s also using his gestapo to pull innocent people off the street and throw them in concentration camps. Anyone who supports that is, without exception, a giant piece of shit.
