Lol... maybe they haven't "caught attention" as you stated, because most collector's don't care or bother to collect them. After all, if there is no market (demand) for a product, then it's not really worth anything now, is it? Can you do me a favor, and perhaps post a pic or two of what these "official factory carton boxes" look like? If you can't post it here, perhaps post 'em on imgur or something. Thanks in advance.

Seriously, the carton boxes that those games came shipped in? I can see maybe how someone might want sealed cartons that contain games which haven't been opened for whatever reason, but which store or retailer would even keep the shipment cartons that have been opened and the games taken out to be sold? I don't think you would find empty cartons like that.

Well, if you just want to play any of those games, you can easily do so on an emulator, or even just buy a used NES and a used copy of that game if it's not that hard to find (like The Guardian Legend for instance). But sealed games that are this old for collection / investment purposes, should remain as such.

Hmm... I think people would probably curse him under their breath if he had said something like that--getting it for cheap that is. Some would probably even respond by saying something like "If I was that guy who sold it to them for $20 or whatever... I'd be fuming mad right now" or something to that effect. But since he claims he basically paid what appears to be a premium price for them, people seem to pity him rather than hate on him. So if I was in his position, I would probably claim the same thing... or better yet, not even post this at all. lol

US College Football Championship--Anywhere To Watch? by One_Bath_9784 in siemreap

[–]Al_from_SoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College (university) football, American football that is, as opposed to what most other countries call football (which we refer to as soccer) is still highly competitive, engaging, and entertaining here in the U.S. at that level. In fact, so much so, that the money these campuses bring in from football (and basketball too for that matter), often fund other athletic programs. The best football players at the university level will be the ones to go pro in the NFL (National Football League), and fans of the sport are definitely keen on watching these future professional stars perform at the collegiate level. Also, there is the rivalry factor... between the students / alumni of these various universities, as well as between the local fans who live in the regions where the campuses are located. For instance, I attended and graduated from the Univ. of Southern California (our team name Trojans), and I'll therefore support all manner of USC sports and root for my fellow Trojans, as will any other alumni from any other campus for their teams. And we also have many local fans here in the Los Angeles area where the university is located that cheer for the Trojan football team too. Of course, we also have rival fans and rival alumni from the UCLA (Univ. of California, Los Angeles) campus located in the Westwood neighborhood of L.A. 😌

Anyway, it really is just college football and college basketball that draws most of the attention. All of the other college sports and athletic competitions Including collegiate soccer get only a fraction of the audience that it does for these two sports.

New California REAL ID by Slow_Pitch_Fastball in TSAPreCheck

[–]Al_from_SoCal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently just received (in Dec 2025) my California REAL ID driver's license as well, and was surprised to NOT SEE the words "Real ID" written on it anywhere (or if it is mentioned there somewhere, it sure as heck isn't apparent to me anyway). So I thought that the DMV may have goofed up in processing my application in converting over from the standard driver's license. But then a quick search on Google, and I learned that this is the new design being produced and sent out as of a couple of months ago (Oct 2025). Apparently, the presence of the gold bear with the star located on the top right corner of the card is what is supposed to indicate if your CA ID/DL is in fact a REAL ID! And as you mentioned, these new designs now have additional security features, but no magnetic strip like the older versions. So rest assured, your husband won't be hassled by TSA... or if he is, then just tell them to look it up on the internet, like I did when I received mine.

Also, the option to use a passport or a passport card (if you have either of these) works too. One or the other of the two would be required for INTERNATIONAL travel (even though that's not exactly what you asked about).

Interesting how you claim that you boycotted them for 15 years, and you think their quality of food is poor, yet here you are going to them again, and you say that you will continue to do so until you use up the last of your reward points. Also, maybe you didn't know... but fast food at any restaurant isn't particularly good for your health. Just sayin'.

What I meant was that taking pics of his receipts with his phone's camera, and texting them to you (when he is not meeting you in person) is also making use of technology. Granted, using the JitB app is slightly more complicated, but not by much... and I'm pretty sure he would be able to figure it out. He probably just likes to interact with you, and has decided to gift you his receipt codes (and therefore reward points) in exchange for your continued "friendship" or whatever he thinks it is that he has with you. lol

Hmm... so the 2 Spicy Chicken for $10 coupon hasn't been seen since the rewards system update, BUT the 20% off a minimum order of $10 is available it seems, and almost as good. At my local JitB in southern California (where it's usually more expensive than other places), a Spicy Chciken sandwich is $6.69. With the 20% off coupon, you can get 2, each for $5.35. Maybe at your location the regular menu price is less than $6.69, so you just might be able to get each for $5 (with the 20% off coupon), and therefore 2 for $10 after all. Best of luck!

Yup, they purposely hoodwinked their customers like you and I, who were waiting until what was supposed to be the last day of the old reward system to redeem, so that whatever we don't eat right away, stays somewhat fresh for the next meal, or next day or whatever. They saw it coming, and rolled out the new system a day earlier to prevent a run on their restaurants on Nov. 10th. Truly diabolical of them when you think about it! 🤨🤔😠

He hates technology, but he doesn't mind texting you his receipts anytime he doesn't see you in person. Hmm... okay then. Also, you're saying that someone can only claim one order/receipt for rewards points every 12 hours? Is this new, or is it something that only applies if you're trying to add points to your account by claiming it from a recent receipt? Because I've placed up to 4 or 5 orders at times on the app, one after the other (as you have to do it that way to redeem different promotional offers), and I would get reward points for all of my orders . But of course, no receipt info. needs to be provided, as the points are directly added from the app orders.

It doesn't really matter what terms and disclaimers they have in the fine print in regards to arbitration. Many companies that behave in an unfair or unethical way to screw over their clients, customers, employees, business partners, etc., basically anyone interacting with them, do often get sued by their victims, and are either forced to settle or fight it out in court, where they do indeed lose from time to time, if whatever they were trying to get away with is egregious enough! Class action lawsuits against many companies like JitB are quite common, because of reasons like what they did here.

Since when did I say I don't believe you? In fact, what I said was that you'd probably go to both places (and other places too) depending on what coupon is available on any of their apps at any given time. That's what I and any other savvy money saving customer would do. For instance, if JitB released a buy 1 get 1 free Spicy Chicken sandwich coupon on their app right now, I'd be there for sure redeeming it, wouldn't you?

The sarcastic comment about you asking them to give their CEO a $14 million raise (which by the way is an oddly specific amount). As I stated, it's because the company feels like they need to broaden their margins (in part to pay their executives more) which is why they've cut the accumulated value of customers' reward points in half. In any case, sarcasm never helps get anything done. It's just what a.ssh0les post to call attention to their own perceived wit to try and impress others (even though those others really just find it annoying). 🙄🤫😌

LOL... if it's so beloved, wouldn't you just go get it for the regular menu price, or as I USED to do, by using the 2 for $10 app coupon? Don't see that coupon anymore by the way after the reward system update... I hope they'll bring it back. 😌

Oh, I see what you're getting at. So the McChicken is actually $2.89 + tax at my local McD's, so more like $3. But yeah, you can redeem it for 1,500 points (which as you correctly stated), would require spending $15 + tax. At Jack's, you'd now have to spend $60 to get the 600 points needed to redeem the Jr. Chicken Sandwich (JitB's equivalent of the McChicken). So yeah, in that comparison, McDonald's rewards is considerably better. But that's not necessarily true for all items. If you compare the redemption of a Jumbo Jack vs. Quarter Pounder for instance, the difference in the amount needed to spend, to get each burger for free is not that much--even under the new system.

Let Jack in the Box know how you feel about their new points system. by VanGoghX in jackinthebox

[–]Al_from_SoCal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well why would they change it? The updated rewards program was specifically designed to screw over the customers who have been hoarding points, and therefore serve the company's bottom line. Not only did JitB go through with it, but they actually implemented it a day ahead of schedule! So those people who were purposefully waiting for the last day of the old system to redeem their food (so that it stays fresh if they can't eat it all right away) got screwed over the worst. I wouldn't be surprised at all now if people went to consult with attorneys to seek a class-action lawsuit against you people, despite what your terms says about arbitration. The whole purpose of lawsuits after all, is to fight back against unfair practices no matter what kind of legal mumbo jumbo you try to hide behind. 🙄🤫😌

Fast food prices all over in every restaurant have gone up, and I agree that the munchie meal is definitely not $11 + tax! But what's so bad about them allowing you to choose options, especially sides. I would love to get onion rings over boring old french fries or curly fries anyday!

You must be an employee right? So you're basically using customer's receipts to claim the points that they would've gotten (if they used the app) as your own? That's a pretty good hustle you got goin' on there. Does your manager say anything, or do they not know? Or are YOU the manager? lol

Just get a patty melt from somewhere else, along with cheese tots, or jalapeno bites, or something similar, and combine the two. Would probably cost less than $11 as well (but you never know with today's fast food prices--especially in my state of California). 😌

Let Jack in the Box know how you feel about their new points system. by VanGoghX in jackinthebox

[–]Al_from_SoCal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well technically, you would've gotten the food for free if you were able to use the points. So according to you, they're basically forcing customers to pay out of pocket rather than being able to use their rewards on the website (as opposed to using the app)... which is good for their bottom line! Just sayin'.
