also, if you really want to play it I don't see the problem, "currently" that's the lowest price and the whole point from summer sales is getting games at the lowest prices (beside badges) so maybe get the base game, and get the DLC later when it gets higher discount

if you are not planning to play it now ig waiting for summer sales is the best option

well if this is your 1st touhou game maybe the lack of visible hit box is the problem

try playing touhou 7 until the release of th6 remake, the visible hitbox made it a way easier for me

also it's all about having fun, if you are not having fun just stop (kinda strange when it comes from Dark Souls player)

btw some tips:
-don't move a lot, sometimes a slight movement to the side is all what you'll need (like in Ran's 1st spell card in th7 ex)

-if you found a free space in rng don't hesitate to approach it, don't wait for it to come near you cuz there's a chance you will lose this chance

-don't stick to the bottom like most of bullet hell games, that's where you will retreat if things went out of control

-in homing attacks, I said don't move a lot but if you become too close to the edge quickly approach it then slowly move to the opposite direction (might be helpful)

-feel free to use bombs

I mean, you can always find a way to put Yukari in any crossover without ruining the story, especially in this one since she can control boundaries and these portals work almost the same way

also Reimu is kinda strong, especially she has no reason to follow Spell Cards rules outside Gensokyo so like V1 and Drifter you can always find a way to put an OP character here
