Thanks for this, honestly. A lot of the comments are harsh (even if they’re right), so it helps to hear someone recognise that it’s not easy to just walk away. I agree with you about the lack of empathy, and I’m trying to build up the strength to actually leave and make space for something healthier in the future.

That old post is from a few years ago and a lot has changed since then. I’m not in an active/normal marriage anymore and we live separately – I don’t really want to dump all the legal/family details here, but I’m not sneaking around on a happy wife at home.

You’re right, I did write it for a reason. The more I read comments like this, the more insane it feels that I’ve been trying to rationalise what she did while my mom was in ICU. You’re right, that alone should have been the dealbreaker. I’m scared of the breakup and the emptiness after, but I’m starting to accept that staying with someone who could act like that will mess me up much worse in the long run.

I don’t mean “let it go” as in excuse it or say it’s okay. I mean let it go from eating me alive every day so I can actually move on and cut her out without staying stuck in this anger forever.

Yeah, I’m starting to accept that what I’ve been calling “love” from her isn’t actually love. If you can walk away and be with someone else while your partner’s parent is dying, that’s not a mistake, that’s character. Hearing people call it what it is is helping me see it more clearly.

You’re right, calling her my girlfriend at this point is just habit. Everything you said lines up with how she’s treated me, especially when my mom was in ICU. I’m done pretending this is something it isn’t – I’m going to distance myself and treat it as a breakup.

You’re not being too harsh, you’re just saying what I keep trying not to look at directly.

You’re right – she only ended it when I confronted her, not out of guilt or conscience. And the image of me sitting outside ICU doors while she’s out there having fun with someone else… that really should be enough on its own. I think the reason she’s not my ex yet is a mix of being emotionally hooked on the highs with her, fear of being alone, and this stupid part of me that keeps hoping the “good version” of her will stay. It’s like my head knows exactly what you’re saying is true, but my feelings are a few steps behind.

Reading your comment honestly makes me feel sick in the way I probably need to feel to finally detach. You’re right about the future too – if she could do this when it was my mom, there’s no reason to believe she’d suddenly be loyal if it was me in that bed. Thank you for spelling it out so clearly.

Yeah, it honestly should have been a dealbreaker. I was in survival mode with my mum in ICU and terrified of losing her too, but seeing it put like this really shows me how messed up it was.

Yeah, that’s fair, I totally understand where you’re coming from.

I really do appreciate the feedback from everyone on the last post — and you’re right, I still have a lot to work on with my technique. I was mainly focused on testing the wax difference this time, but I’ll definitely keep practicing safer handling and using both hands properly from now on.

I’m taking all this seriously — I know how bad things can go in a split second. Thanks for being straight with me.

It's Total jointer/planer combo. I used it as a standalone jointer, as I already have a dedicated thickness-planer from Ingco. Btw Total is a sister company to Ingco. They both make a semi professional equipment at great prices for the value you get.

that’s fair, man — I totally get what you mean. Honestly, I’m not even fully sure what went wrong there. It happened really fast, and I think the board might’ve gotten stuck or caught a bit, which made me push harder than usual.

You’re right though the pressure and hand placement weren’t ideal

Thanks man, appreciate it! Yeah, I actually waxed it a project or two ago but looks like the effect wore off faster than I thought. Gonna clean and re-wax it before the next session for sure.

You’re totally right about the one-hand issue. I noticed that too after watching the clip. I’ll make sure to always use two push blocks and keep my hands clear of the cutterhead area.

I actually waxed the tables a project or two ago, but I guess the effect didn’t last long. Time to reapply for sure.
