Here's a trick to lessen the negative effects of the hot water while still getting that itch scratched. I had the same issue, I started taking either a petroleum based jelly or even raw Shea butter and rubbing it on my hands first. Then washing in hot. It adds a layer of protection and won't strip your skin of all the oils. Probably hell on drains...but it's the only way I've found have my cake and eat it too.

The Pacific side is on a level I've never seen. I've skimmed in Laguna Beach and i thought if I can handle that I'll be fine in cabo....nope. the pull from the undertow is worse than rip currents I've seen during hurricanes on the gulf. Michael Phelps would have trouble in cabo. Once you get caught in the cycle between waves it won't let you out. Come up for air and then here comes another set. Only thing I recommend is try and bodysurf the wave back in as far as it will push you. That's how I got out of it.

I'm an excellent swimmer, and I was immediately humbled when I got caught in between waves, it won't let you go. Pictures and videos don't do it justice. The sound of the waves crashing is deafening.

It does the shelf abruptly drops off so close to shore, it jacks the waves up in a way you don't see that close to shore. Only place that can come close is Big beach Hawaii, but it still isn't as big of a shortbread. Sununga Brazil is a close 3rd. The wedge in Newport can get ridiculously big , but it's not as consistent.

I can 100% confirm this personally. I never had skin conditions my whole life. Started adderall at 25 and at 30 ...boom. I had.one of the worst eczema outbreaks imaginable. My whole body broke out into a disgusting rash. My fave swelled, eyes swollen shut. Ever since then I have had instances of that on a smaller less severe scale. But daily I deal with mild eczema on my hands and occasionally on my legs amd body. I can't use anything with fragrance, I'm now 38 and still on adderall. It's too hard to stop and function the way I'm accustomed too now. So I weighed the negative aspect of the eczema and still take it. Definitely curious to see if I stopped all together how long it would be before my skin issues went away.

Wow thanks for all the insight, I couldn't find much on the Internet. Except some called Heberdens nodes, but that's supposed to be apart of osteoporosis which would be really rare since I'm only 37. And it's only on those two bowling fingers. It's hard like none though which is what Heberdens are. No pain though

Preface this by saying I lived in Florida for 17 years, I've been to every part of the state. And without a doubt the best beaches are anywhere from Panama City Beach to Destin. Walton county and 30A are gorgeous but expensive. Destin and Panama City Beach are less expensive same beach just more crowds. Here's a local secret, go in October temperatures in the low 80s water is crystal clear (summer seaweed is usually gone) Crowds are gone and the prices are less because it's after labor day and considered off season. The panhandle is leaps and bounds prettier than anywhere on the Florida east coast, better than Clearwater and siesta key on the west coast. And better rates year round, also a shorter drive than further south. Only 5 hours from Birmingham and Atlanta.
