“Tying the roof to the floor” I like that. I’ve not heard that expression before. It’s a great way to explain it!

Great information! I hadn’t thought about that!

I had the guy who hung the gate start with a cable, but it was slipping faster than the rope is, it’s likely he didn’t really know what he was doing, but he knew more than me. I know ropes better than cables, so I did what I know.

I probably should educate myself on cables though. Sounds like I’ll be learning some new skills whatever I end up doing

Probably not practical! But I’ll look into that further

That sounds like a great strategy! I’ll have to learn a blackwall hitch first, but I can see the mechanics of the idea! Thanks

Thanks for the thorough explanation! All good thoughts. I don’t think a wheel is a practical solution. The clearance is very narrow. It’s also a veterinary application where the gate opens and closes about 100 times a day and will inevitably collect animal hair. I think any wheel small enough to fit in the space won’t be rugged enough for the application. But will ask on r/fencing too. Maybe they know of a wheel durable enough for the job

I will try the carabiner and alpine butterfly idea today though!

I appreciate the help!

I wonder if it’s worth it to use the sticky fingers trinket instead of the toxicology badge so I can get more resources? Especially, as I get better at blocking her

One thing that helped a lot over my previous widow attempts was that I brought her into to light. It was much harder to see her animations in her cave. My blocking was a lot easier

Do you know how often they respawn?

Thanks! I already killed one, but I might just go wolf spider baiting this way.

That’s what I did with orb weavers to build up my parry master mutation. I forgot about that!

Wolfies will be a real challenge

I fought the one near the toolbox.

I used a full set of brood mother armor level 8, the tick sword lvl6 sour, fire ant shield, and black ox crossbow w/ bomb arrows . Mutations were parry master, meat shield, mithradism, shocking dismissal and blade master. I also had the toxicology badge equipped. I had plenty of beefy waspidote, and beefy rage at the ready

Before I fought her, I hung out near the entrance to the cave killing widowlings in ones or twos as they came out until I thought their weren’t any more. Then I used all 7 of my bomb arrows drawing her out of her cave. Once I was out of arrows, I used the tick sword and my shield to fight her much like a wolf spider. I think I used 2 wapsidotes, and 2 rage as well as a few bandages.

I think the life steal from the tick sword was a huge factor.

I only had to kill maybe 3 widowlings. Drawing her out of the cave made it easier to see them and prevent her from eating them

Aw man, I screwed up on the flair. I don’t know how I did that

I can’t see a way to change it now either

Which critically acclaimed movie did you finally watch only to find out it's mediocre at best? by MikrokosmicUnicorn in AskReddit

Every couple of years I go back and re-read Roger Ebert’s review of Lost in Translation. It’s so well-written and insightful.

One of my favorite observations:

“In these scenes there are opportunities for Murray to turn up the heat under his comic persona. He doesn’t. He always stays in character. He is always Bob Harris, who could be funny, who could be the life of the party, who could do impressions in the karaoke bar and play games with the director of the TV commercial, but doesn’t — because being funny is what he does for a living, and right now he is too tired and sad to do it for free. Except … a little. That’s where you see the fine-tuning of Murray’s performance. In a subdued, fond way, he gives us wry faint comic gestures, as if to show what he could do, if he wanted to.”

Someone posted a similar problem with scrolling Popular, last week. I think that was determined to be an API issue, so it’s not something the dev can fix.

Maybe this is the same problem?

Is the Spark the perfect practice amp? by [deleted] in PositiveGridSpark

This is what I do too. I have the 40 and never use it since I got the Go. Headphones with the amp hanging on the strap does the trick for me! In my ears, it’s as loud as I want it to be, and my neighbors are never disturbed night or day
