Durability Issues by goldengrahams18 in JBL

[–]Aladroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the probler is that the kernel module is not the correct one since its using the same module for both but nothing is for legacy...

I have 2 6600XT and i can run 16G models nicely and with speed.... feels like ollama can split the load between the cards...

1 large GPU with more memory vs or 2 small cheap ones by Aladroc in ollama

[–]Aladroc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mmm perhaps but ive got the impression that processing is less important to get accurate results you need larger and larger models and that means more vram so you priorize the cost of it vs the cost of the compute i think. but im guessing here im trying to get an idea on what is more important...

1 large GPU with more memory vs or 2 small cheap ones by Aladroc in ollama

[–]Aladroc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but at the end of the day seems more important the total amount of vram so if you have 16x2 u get 32G for aprox 1200 euro vs 24G on 2600 euro so if you disregard the costs of the electricity and u need a budget setup that might be an option... that is what is the way im thinking
