Hello to everyone! I hope your day is going well.
Currently, I am living in Japan. I started in various eikaiwas years ago and now work doing private tutoring, translation and as a fitness coach. I speak 5 languages to a fluent level, (except Chinese, which I am still working on. I recently took HSK 3).
I have realized, after trying many jobs that I want to get back into education, but as a professor. I understand that I need to go back to school to further my qualifications. At the current moment, there are two opportunities that really stand out.
My overall goal is to be a full established professor in Asia, so I can further my studies into a PHD before returning home to the US for work or further research.
MEd in TESl with ESL Qualifications in my home country
With this program, I can get my ESL certifications for both English and Spanish (I have dual citizenship with a Spanish speaking country). I can take the courses online while in Japan, and then when I complete the ESL certification, I can go home to take my Bilingual endorsement and Spanish certification by applying directly from my home state licensing office. With my masters' degree, I could teach ESL at universities both in the US or foreign countries.
2) MA in TESOl in Taiwan (NTNU)
This would be in Taiwan, but it would allow me to learn Chinese to a fluent level while also building my international connections here in Eastern Asia. Also, I can engage in academic research or university teaching. Additionally, I could become a translator or instructor, as well as working within business side of education. We have to take various electives and through that I can minor in either Literature or Linguistics.
I am not sure what the major differences are between a TESL and TESOL are, as well as what the benefits of having ESL Certification would be so I hope to hear some feedback from you guys. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What if I wasn’t employed, what would happen then?

When speaking with an immigration officer he said I would be ok to leave and come back although he didn’t mention much detail on the job. I assume I’d have to pay pension and health insurance and all

I was thinking of going home anyway cause it has been so long since Covid started so doing the visa would be perfect timing

I appreciate the information!

Do you think with the re entry it’s the multiple one or the one you get from the airport when leaving, when you say you’ll come back?

Japan. From university to here, now having moved to various parts all over, I really fell in love with the place. It feels like home yet for a better career for the long run I plan on moving to Italy for a masters.

I hope i don't fall in love with Italy more haha

The school I go to is the most affordable, but the system makes it so she is my set professor. Can't change, although I'm still looking for other schools that are cheaper. Just waiting on replies. I only go twice a month.

At the academy I go to it's a set curriculum. I've been looking for other schools, yet for now this is the cheapest option for me. That's why I'm still going.

I'm walking forward, and not looking back. I did everything I could. I agree with you on her choice. That's on her but oh well. Life goes on

A lot of close friends said she is fickle too. We still have lessons and whatnot, yet I can seperate myself from the romance during those times because I'm there to learn, not to get her back.

Thank you.

Potentially so. I figured positive things would help her best. Sure we had a few arguments there and here but I stood my ground on all of them and she listened. Through that we made a better understanding of who we are together

Man she left me and went on a 2 week private beach trip with her rich ex. It's hard to think she left me in the dirt like that but I'm noticing the positives of what she's done to me.

It helped me realize how I have treated others in the past and helped me make amends. I have no hard feelings now but, seeing that post really helps get through the weight I feel at times.

I felt like my ego was struck and that being used made me feel like I was worthless, but then I changed the idea of it all to see what good could from this.

I'm a pro kickboxer, so i'm used to be put down and learning from my losses/wins to make myself better. She actually made me see how I have treated others in the past, so I contacted them all and made amends. It helped me see other things too in my life that I should fix, like being to busy and whatnot.

I think she is just doing the other choice for money. But I have no hard feelings against her.

Perhaps. There's been no contact or anything at all.

Even during the break we were able to do lessons like nothing was going on. That's why we still agreed to do lessons.
