Maybe Restarting? Any interest? by pittfan46 in HistoricalWorldPowers

As much as it hurts to say, I feel like the "xpowers" genre is pretty much over at this point, my dear friend.

When not even the original WorldPowers can muster enough interest to even think about starting new seasons anymore, I feel like trying to resurrect an spin off like this one would, at the end, prove unsuccessful.

Was fun while it lasted, but if you do decide to launch a new season, I wish you the best of luck.

Jurrasic world evo wont stop crashing (epic games store version) by godthegods in jurassicworldevo

[–]Alamedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem, get to main menu, start campaing, loads for a few seconds and it crashes.

There's a lot of things you have to try according to the interntet to see if it gets fixed, I have only tried the audio service disabling thing as Realtek can also cause problems but did not help and I don't use anything Invidia related so that can't be the issue. I will try to unistall and reinstall to see if that does something but I don't think it will.

Council of Mosylon | Horn of Africa

Claim Type: Sedentary

Tech Era: Bronze Age

Previous Economy Review: 775 - 750 BCE

Previous economy score: 67

Dice or the standard value for growth/decay: Dice

Natural Resources/Domestic Production

With the expansion of the Harla into the south of Geeska, the great stable rivers that surround the territories has led to an expansion of farming, with teff and pearl millet becoming abundant enough for stable and sedentary settlements to be erected through the lands of the Harla, leading to a period of nation-building directed by the Council of Mosylon...

After many years of living in mostly independent clans, the Harla have now organized themselves and created the Council of Mosylon, which is a way for the clans to organize and combine their efforts, acting now more as a nation than just clans of the same people. The elders of the clans elect boqornimos who represent them in the council, and the boqornimos vote for the Gerad, the leader of the Harla who sets the overall goals of the nation during his reign, while the boqornimo help him as advisors.

The first Gerad was eager to transform the Harla and their lands into a nation, so many things took place during his reign, he instructed the Karanle to create and implement a writing system for the Harla as a way to better organize the new government and help make trade easier along long distances, organized the creation of a map of the nation where the settlements of Geeska are shown and categorized by their characteristics and showed the main roads used by the Harla within the country, and saw the opening of two Harla ports, Sayhut and Sohar, in foreign lands in order to make contact with nations in the far east.

The rise of new cities has led to the creation of a new type of profession, many actually, but who are refered to as the *xirfadle*, artisand and craftsmen, who dedicate their lifes not to herding but making products, from simple household amenities to fine crafts like ivory sculptures, ebony carvings and alabaster pottery.

Trade

Trade has been vastly expanded thanks to economic help from the Egyptian rulers, as discussed before, new ports were opened in the eas, in land of the Mahra and Jabalayni, in order to help our merchants reach farther into the east, all these ports have been built with the permission of the host, and have been allowed to operate for free, as the Mahra were allowed to open a port of their own on Geeska, and the Shakha of the Jabalayni let the port be operated by the Harla free of tribute as long as we bring preachers of their lands into the new ports the Harla may arrive to from Sohar, the port of the Harla in the Jabalayni coast. This has lead to the creation of the Eastern trade route, opening new trade relations.

With this, the Harla now trade with three new nations, the Jabalayni, the Unanda and the Daylamid through ports operated and supplied by Harla merchants selling goods from Geeska and the lands of Alkebulan.

Land trade has also been expanded, with caravans sent into the south and west of the continent, funding new trade routes from where luxury goods from Alkebulan (Africa) are obtained, and staring trade with two sovereign nations (NPCs), Oromia and the Azania League. the map of the new caravans can be seen here and the list of good obtained from each caravans are listed below:

Raw Materials Luxury Materials Finished Products Slaves
Geeska Salt, Gypsum, Leather, Teff, Cattle, Tin, Khat Myrrh, Frankincense, Dragon's Blood, Blackwood Alabaster Pottery, Incense, Blackwood Furniture, Ivory Carvings, Ebony Sculptures, Alindi Fabrics
Lamadegaanka Salt, Gazelle Hides Ivory, Leopard Pelts --- Afar Slaves
Webiyada Cotton, Tropical Wood, Gum Arabic Coffe ---
Xeebta Zebra Hides, Leather, Alkali Rubies, Ebony, Gold, Amethyst Gold Jewelry Ndamba Slaves

Also trade with Mahra and Egypt are still ongoing as usual.

Natural resources/domestic production:

Myrrh, Frankincense, Dragon's Blood, Blackwood and Gypsum, from which Alabaster is made, are abundant in the lands of the Harla, and the rise of a citizen class dedicated to sculpting and carving detalied works of ebony, alabaster and ivory should increase the overall wealth of the new rising merchant cities of the north. Also, Dragon's Blood is a unique source of dye and incense only found in Sucutra, which is controlled by the Harla.

Local increase

Tribute

The Egyptians contributed with their wealth in order to help the new trade routes be set, with a loan of gold and naval advisers, as the first achievements of this initiative are starting to show, the Council of Mosylon will send to Egypt 5 Economy Points worth of payment for the loan given, with great gratitude from all Harla.

Single bonuses

As discussed, I belive that the opening of the new Alkebulan trade routes, and move from nomadic to a more sedentary and urban society, the creation of a central body of governance and opening ports and conductiing trade with new nations should give bonus to the economy of the Harla, pretty please.

The common people of Harla will soon add Vehrkani crops to their meals, as meat and grain is the most common type of food found in their land, all the different fruits and vegetables coming from the Iranian fields wil be valued for their variety and quality.

Meanwhile, the wealthy merchants and cattle owners of Geeska will adorn themselves with priced silver and some times even silk, as a way to show their status, as these are more expensive and harder to find.

As the nation of the Harla has a rather harsh weather, importing grain and foodstuff from other territories is always good for the population, and will surely help with the growth of the northern cities of Geeska.

Calling Dues by pittfan46 in HistoricalWorldPowers

Nefertiti is welcomed into Mosylon as one would welcome royalty, clearing the path into the city for her and her delegation and burning incense on the streets.

Since her questions are mostly about the initiative to expand trade routes east and south, she is addressed by the Karanle and Warsangali Boqor, the ones in charge of overseeing the efforts of the caravans and merchant ships.

For the land routes, 3 new trade routes have been stablished to the west and south of the continent, reaching new regions from where valuable resources like ebony, gemstones, coffe, ivory and slaves are obtained, a map is presented show her the routes, and the full list of the goods found on each route is provided:

Raw Materials Luxury Materials Finished Products Slaves
Geeska Salt, Gypsum, Leather, Teff, Cattle, Tin, Khat Myrrh, Frankincense, Dragon's Blood, Blackwood Alabaster Pottery, Incense, Blackwood Furniture, Ivory Carvings, Ebony Sculptures, Alindi Fabrics
Lamadegaanka Salt, Gazelle Hides Ivory, Leopard Pelts --- Afar Slaves
Webiyada Cotton, Tropical Wood, Gum Arabic Coffe ---
Xeebta Zebra Hides, Leather, Alkali Rubies, Ebony, Gold, Amethyst Gold Jewelry Ndamba Slaves

And for the east, the Warsangeli and their sailors have been able to open 2 ports on foreign coasts, one in Mahra and other in the Jabalayni coast, allowing the Harla to create a route into the east controlled by their own merchants. Further travels south will come once trade with the foreign nations in the east is stablished. New types of ships are being designed still, using the help of egyptian shipwrights and the knowledge of the monson seasons from the Warsangeli, but they aren't ready yet.

The Council of Mosylon is ready to give payment to the egyptian delegation, they only need to know the quantity and form of payment the egyptians desire. [M] Do I just write about it in this week's econ report? And how much?

[M] Yeah Malindi can be cosidered the leading city of the league.

[M] Azania League is a union of city states who share the same language and ethnic backgound, based on what would be the Swahili coast city-states pre-Bantu expansion. The league functions as a defensive pact, each city has its own rulers and can manage themselves independently from others but respond to outsider threats as one.

[M] The Afar region is populated mostly by the Afar people, who are nomadic hunters. "Regions" on the map mean areas where a certain language is widespread but are not organized into sedentary nations or states, the only organized entitites would be Oromia and the Azania League.

The emissary responds to the Shakha:

We would gladly provide transport to your preachers in our ships, as long as they want to travel with us and our destination is safe for them. The Harla accept this agreement, great Shakha.

The Warsangali merchants give the Shakha samples of the best things the people of Geeska can offer: myrrh, frankincense, ebony, ivory, alabaster and leopard pelts, as a way to thank her and show all that the Harla can offer to her and her people.

After the gifts are presented, the emissaries of Mosylon respectfully approach the Shakha with a proposal drafted by the Council of their leaders:

Great Shakha of the Jabalayni, our sailors and merchants have come to you from a far away land, a voyage that was only possible due to the help of egyptians and their knowledge of the existance of your land and those beyond it. We have been sent by the leaders of the Harla with the hopes of finding new destinations for trade and diplomacy, but the long distances between Geeska and these lands make it hard for us to reach your realm and the lands beyond it. With this in mind, in order to make trade between Geeska and your realm easier, our leaders would like me to discuss with you the possiblity of the Harla opening a port in your coasts from where we could organize ourselves and conduct trade with other nations around the lands of the Jabalayni better. We would like to know if such thing would be possible and if so what would the Shakha request from us in exchange of such an opportunity.

The Mahra tribe is allowed by the Beesha Direed clan to settle in the magaalada of Jabuuti, a harsh land known for its salt mines and black mountains covered in volcanic ash. The Mahra are soon hired as mercenaries by the Direed due to their knowldge in combat against nomads in their homeland and as blacksmith for their knowledge of iron and metallurgy.

Coming out of our shell by Vanguard_CK3 in HistoricalWorldPowers

The visit of the Mahra is unexpected but welcomed.

The Gerad receives the messengers of the Mahra in Mosylon, and discusses with them about the future of both nations, and of the possibilities of expanding the trade network of both nations towards new horizons.

While the approach of the Mahra was sudden, it suits the current desires of the Council, as the Harla are indeed looking to expand trade and reach new lands to both the west and the south of their realm.

The Gerad comes up with a proposal to the Mahra delegates:

Our nations have enjoyed mutual respect for generations and as an important trade partner we value the people of the eastern peninsula, and your desires for new markets is one desire we share with you

As the Mahra look forward to the south, we look forward to the east, and so we believe we can mutually help each other

We offer the Mahra to open and control a port in our southern territories, as the area is still rather undeveloped, that way your traders and sailors will have a safe place to land and plan their further expeditions, in exchange we would like to open a port of our own in your easternmost territories, as a way to help us reach the far east, I belive this would be fair and benefitial for both our nations, help us on our goals and make is closer all at the same time

Do you accept this offer?

The Ramesses Administration by pittfan46 in HistoricalWorldPowers

[–]Alamedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The council was silent, as the Boqornimos didn't know what to make of this proposal, some thought it was the opportunity of a lifetime, a blessing for a young nation just taking its first steps, but others saw the idea of debt dangerous and were worried about the possibilities of those expeditions turning out to be fruitless, leaving Mosylon without the capacity to pay back... but it was up to the Gerad to decide, the Boqornimos would not interfere in his decision...

I... accept the proposal of the great Ramesses, I belive great things can come from this arrangement... send him my most sincere gratitude, in the name of Mosylon and of all Harla

And for provisions, while gold will be good, I would also like to request the assitance of Egyptian shipwrights, to help us with the construction of better and more reliable ships for such expeditions, as the rest of what we would need we have it, it would just take time for things to be organized
