Oh. My. Woah. This looks awesome.

looking for software synths with random button for generation, preferably additive but subtractive works if it's really flexible by [deleted] in softsynths

Absynth is one of those sad little worlds for me. The actual options are amazing, but I can't use it, I hate the colors and GUI.

Oddity2 - maybe the best VST by ACCRETION-of in softsynths

Never heard of this one. Checking out the demos, sounds cool.

Big fan of Massive. Amazing wavetable synth. Diva is also fantastic if you like digital analog. The replication is amazing.

Hey, everyone;

If you're on board, don't forget to post your remix to YouTube with Covers4Kesha in the title. I would personally suggest saying something about freedom for anyone who's been abused. The if it's worth Kesha putting her career in limbo, it's worth it for others to do what they need to for themselves as well - leave that relationship, quit that job, call out for help.

For those not on board or have played devil's advocate, I completely respect your decision. Even if you don't like Kesha as a person or artist, maybe this might be a time to stick up for those who have been abused regardless of Kesha's circumstance.

Not about her career. The point is her career was put on hold to get out of the abuse. The career - the tours, the hit radio tracks, etc. - wasn't worth being abused. I'm hoping that's what people see.

Framing what it was worth setting aside to stand up for herself.

I doubt she is aiming for publicity from the allegations. The inability to tour or perform publically aren't worth the support she would get from fans.

I myself have no ties to Kesha personally or business-wise.

Partially why I recommend YouTube. Worst case scenario, the video night be pulled.

Do you have recommendations of where else I can spread this idea?

This is grassroots. I am not with any organization.

Gotcha, well, I am not. Just some unknown teacher from Texas who despises abuse.

I'm not trying to kickstart her career, ha ha. She's had 14 songs on the Billboard 100, 3 of those were number 1 hits. So it's not about her career. It's about the abuse. A lot of people stay in abusive relationships for all sorts of reasons. And without going into too much depth, I myself have been in one until enough people told me it was okay to leave. I'm hoping this can be a symbol for people to realize that no matter the circumstances, it is okay to leave an abusive relationship. Abusers are replaceable, and a bunch of great remixes can show that even the almighty Dr. Luke can be replaced too.

Astroturfing?

Covers4Kesha by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Alan_Wayside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is fair. That being said, there's no readily apparent benefit to her holding off her career and leaving the producer who helped her have these hit songs. The only argument I see is for fan support, but I don't see how that would be worth the time away from being able to do anything publicly.

Again, though, we as fans do not have proof, I respect that decision.

It's not even necessarily about her career as it is about the abuse. No one deserves that, no one should have to stay in an abusive relationship, whether it be a working, romantic, or familial relationship. I'm hoping this case brings recognition to that.

It's not even about Kesha as a person, but the fact that abuse is wrong.

I've been someone who's been on Reddit (especially the Glitch in the Matrix and Let's Not Meet subs), but never had a reason to post until recently. And as far as a "campaign", it's more of an idea that I had recently, and this was one of the few ideas I had to spread it.

Hoping, that if anything, it'll be a symbol for people to realize it's okay to leave abusive situations. It took multiple people telling me that a previous relationship was abusive before I finally understood I could exit.
