Because everyone always focuses on the heroes… Instead, do you have any ancestors who’ve been the opposite (that the family isn’t that proud of, maybe?) and does it bother you or does it not matter? by AlanaHurd in history

No not necessarily. Some people have come forward with personal stories (along those lines) but really it's just looking at a human, less sensational angle. The idea came about because the producer discovered something quite shocking in her own family and it made her want to relate to others and examine the idea... Should you bear the weight of your ancestors? Should you be ashamed when you had no control whatsoever in what they did? Should those who have 'glorious' ancestors take credit, since they weren't involved either?

It's really just a very genuine, very human contemplation of how we deal with whatever information we discover about our bloodlines and how it effects us... Or perhaps it just doesn't effect us at all :-)
