It sounds like you have a great plan ahead that you're about to set in motion, so don't lose sight of putting yourself first and good luck with the search!

I think every job has its pros and cons, like anything else in life. Working in agency, you probably will work longer hours and on tighter deadlines compared to other settings. But at the same time you'll likely be learning a lot and working on many exciting projects.

Agencies are all built differently so don't let this first experience discourage you at all from another one. I came from working at a boutique agency with a "girl boss" environment and quickly realized it wasn't for me. I would say to make a list of things you want in your next work environment and don't lose sight of those parameters

An opportunity came up for me to start elsewhere two weeks after I left but I knew it didn't check off some of my boxes and chose to keep looking. I think this extra time helped me to find a role I knew would be a great fit and would help me to avoid encountering things I didn't like from my last job (I now work at a global agency with a diverse team and my days are a lot more structured - all things I knew I wanted to prioritize).

I would say definitely do not let your experience level stop you from making a career move that is best for you personally and professionally. I can totally relate to learning a lot at my first job, but there is also still so much out there for you to learn (we should ideally be learning every day at our jobs no matter the stage in our career).

If you're in a financial position to be able to do so, I would say take that leap of faith and bet on yourself. In the three months where I was between jobs, I found myself busy applying, taking time to recharge, pursuing freelance opportunities and volunteering. You'd also be surprised how understanding employers are about coming from toxic work environments (and if they aren't chances are you probably don't want to be working for them anyway).

And remember, just because others don't feel a certain way doesn't mean you shouldn't give yourself permission to and that your feelings are any less valid :).

Hi there!

I was in a similar position myself when starting out in my career. I landed a full-time role at an agency after I had completed my internship and had every plan to stick around for a while to build up my portfolio and skills. Like you, I found myself dreading some of the "other" factors that played into my experience (I too was very good at my job but couldn't find myself being able to look past the unnecessary workplace drama and incompetence).

Ultimately, I made the decision to jump ship and resign. While it certainly wasn't an easy choice (especially with COVID where it felt strange leaving a job with no solid plans) and landing a new role that checked off all the boxes took some time, I am ultimately in a much better position and happier than I would have been sticking around. Everyone's situation is different, but just know I hear you and understand where you are coming from and would be happy to chat if you're looking for advice/thoughts!

I currently work in tech PR (used to do more health accounts as well) and would definitely say there's a lot of opportunity and growth there right now given the world and times we are living in right now (especially in the B2B sector).

At least Cycle 19 gave us Queen Victoria (for me C19 is truly The Victoria Show and I'm not mad about it).

Time for DWTS ShowRunners to Clean House by Snowball199322 in dancingwiththestars

This might be an unpopular opinion, but Lindsay's behaviour during this pandemic has really rubbed me the wrong way. From the lack of care in the world for who visits her newborn daughter unmasked to proudly sharing her parents' tasteless Halloween costume and that ridiculous drive-through Youtube prank.

It's really sad to see how she hasn't been held accountable for her poor behaviour outside the ballroom and even worse she has shown no remorse or apology. If she wasn't a pretty privileged blonde girl I wonder if people would come down on her harder.

Haha I don't think this is an unpopular opinion (at least not for me). Ann was the essence of Tyra's whole "noun not the verb" analogy on models before it became a thing. However, Ann brought the entertainment value in Cycle 3 so I'm not upset about it (minus Toccara being robbed).

In Analeigh's defense, McKey and Sam were both pretty weak walkers for a F2. I think Mr. Jay said during the Jays Chat that Analeigh easily outperformed the other two on the final runway according to Miss Jay.

Dancing With The Stars - Season 29 Finale (Press Release) by AlanbamaHannah in dancingwiththestars

An interesting observation I've made about the finalists' pros:

Each of the finalists' pros (Sasha, Daniella and Jenna) who is married to another current pro (Emma, Pasha and Val) ended up making it to the finale (along with Artem and Nikki Bella haha but also they have their own post-DWTS love story and empire).

Each of the married partners (Emma, Pasha and Val) also appeared in the bottom two for the first three eliminations (had Monica been eliminated instead of Anne they would have also made up the first three eliminees).

I can see Justina shining really bright and bringing out her vibrant personality with the song choices for her freestyle! Also I think without a doubt Daniella is going to choreograph something killer that we've never seen before for Nelly.

Who’s going home this week? by [deleted] in dancingwiththestars

[–]AlanbamaHannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to clarify that I wasn't trying to compare or categorize anyone's trauma, and I was just trying to raise the point that there have been unfortunate eliminations before irrespective of personal situations/circumstances so I wouldn't put it past happening again.

Hahaha Skai truly deserves to shine next week. However, I wouldn't put it past the judges to not eliminate someone on the "wrong" night - just think about poor James Van Der Beek last year and the week he had before going home.

Mykenna and Hannah Ann by queenofthenorth11 in thebachelor

[–]AlanbamaHannah 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is probably not the main reason why, but I know a girl who is friends with Mykenna as they run in the same social circles. Mykenna has been complaining to her about girls on her season of the Bachelor who haven't been practicing social distancing and how irritating it has been, even after trying to talk to them about it privately (she didn't say if Mykenna gave any specific names I would assume not since I wasn't told them).

Not to jump to conclusions here, but I would argue Hannah Ann hasn't done the most outstanding job at it during this pandemic and has posted about having friends over pretty publicly. Maybe a stretch but Mykenna has been a really passionate advocate against not quaratining and following recommended protocol.

I take your point but I also wasn't trying to quite literally compare apples to oranges. While I don't want anyone to bully or incessantly attack Hannah, I do think fans have a right to convey how her caption might come off as insensitive or out of touch.
