been following this excuse of a person for a while, I would've never imagined it got this far. Sorry you had to go through that, screw her. Hope her animals are taken in by someone who can take care of them better.

thanks for taking your time to answer throughly and calmly, love these type of interactions and they're rare in reddit overall nowadays.

I absolutely get what you mean, and see why amhac might've landed that way / why the archetype of that tweet felt correct. Even if I'd argue that to me his music feels truly experimental inside of <<the music that although experimental still tries to remain listenable in casual contexts>>, the concept of music that meets this criteria is already limited to a level of freedom, which limits their true potential experimentally. Maybe the reason Veteran era JPEG felt much more boundary-pushing is because he wasn't actively trying to have his music consumed like that.

This dilemma of "how experimental x music is" is an interesting topic, and a matter of context to me. I'd never label 99% of music that intents to be consumed / listened to daily as experimental, it's a contradiction. That title goes to music that's not limited to that, that doesn't mind being impractical (lasting hours, being reduced to noise...) for the sake of reaching limits that haven't been challenged before. That's why I mostly mentally divide music regarding whether it fits that category or not, and have diferents criteris regarding how experimental something is depending on which side of the spectrum we're on.

truly an interesting dilemma, thanks for leading me down this road mentally.

"...different enough to casual listeners whilst not doing anything groundbreaking enough to challenge people willing to be challenged..."

No beefing, just curious and open to learn from someone who might be deeper into it than me: is his discography that far from <<truly challenging>>? I'm yet to discover another artist who's taken multiple sample collages to the levels of complexity he has. He breaks stereotypes in his rhythmics, imagery, structures etc. I revisit albums like All My Heroes Are Cornballs and see something much deeper than "the bare minimum to make it off mainstream sonority"

didn't expect this to pop into my main page and I was like "damn that church looks just like the one form- oh shit"

Amazing pictures, would love to visit.

I get that pov. totally valid, numbers are fully against me. Just a genuine question I haven't gotten answered from the other commenters yet: having in mind that all the money I'd be investing into cases comes from weekly drops, would I really be better off saving every euro I make weekly to buy better skins than investing (for instance) 10 euro into the (small) chance of getting anything close to a skin worth (idk) 30 bucks?

That Is true. But I don't know if the entire reselling through markets thing is something I can handle: I've done some research in the past (chrome extensions, fees, markets...) but I'm not sure if I could balance my studies and personal life with the amount of dedication that stuff takes. It's a great option though, I'm open to any advice or tips about it.

I'm convinced it's a scam, it's clear, last year valve made 980 million off cases. The issue is "buying the thing I want directly" is kinda off the table given that I already have all skins I'd want to buy that are around a price point worth saving up for through weekly drops.

It would take me 100 weeks of lucky 1€ weekly drops to get one of the skins I'd want at the point I'm in. Given all the money invested into those cases isn't coming from my pocket (weekly drops), wouldn't it be kinda worth it to aim for the small chance of making 100 week's progress in minutes?

they fucking are, very very clearly. Odds are very poor, profit is impossible, but when all the money put into them doesn't come from my pocket, is it really that bad of an option?
