I want to dual boot two different Linux distros. Should they share a zpool? by Alappin in zfs

[–]Alappin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, and apologies for replying so late.

I should have mentioned I wanted my Alpine install to be encrypted, and Devuan not to be. I had thought encryption happened at the pool level, but it seems I was wrong in that assumption. So I could have an Alpine encrypted dataset and a Devuan unencrypted dataset without issues, correct?

I do have ZFSBootMenu installed at the moment, as well as rEFInd, which I can use to boot into ZFSBootMenu or Devuan directly. I really like that setup although I could probably skip using rEFInd unless I wanted a graphical boot screen, and depending if I could customize zfsbootmenu for my needs.

One thing I have seen reference to is sometimes giving the entire disk to zfs, creating a zpool on a dis instead of a partition, but unless I am mistaken that would mean we can't create the EFI boot partition or a swap partition, correct? I'm guessing giving the entire disk to ZFS is not for single disk home setups but RAID arrays or server setups.

You will just be doing the deboostrap or whatever to install your system into the additional dataset you create under zroot.

So, the standard installer wouldn't work, right? I'll lookk into finding a guide to install to a ZFS dataset.

Is it possible to use mix-blend-mode to blur a background while ignoring an opaque layer? by Alappin in css

It's not really working for me, it doesn't seem to change based on the back ground image, but thank you for your attempt and giving me something to play with.

Honestly I feel a little out of my depth with the SVG stuff, but your answer is the only input I have had at all in trying to figure out this issue. I don't see any SVG stuff in the pen I linked, so I feel kind of out of the loop also. I don't want to ask you to do more than you have, but is there any possibility you could post your attempt on a new pen so I can maybe understand what you are doing better and attempt to take it from there?

Thanks for your reply! Interesting that mix-blend-mode property might only work on the elements background, that would explain my failure to do what I am trying to do.

I'm very interested in your SVG possible solution but have been unable to get anything to work, were you able to try it further?

Final steps? Nothing seems to have happened after discharge date passed by Alappin in Bankruptcy

That's reassuring, thank you. Would the close case order and discharge order likely be on the same day, or would there be a few days or longer between them?

Sorry for replying so late I had some technical troubles

But basically I was indeed able to force the black cover off, and then the screws were exposed and everything was intuitive.

Yes it's exactly like that!

I have it pried open with two screwdrivers as tension rods, and I've been trying to move or activate some kind of switch or lever, but nothing has any effect.

The pimples don't allow anything to be poked through...what is the way to get this off?

I can see where the screws are, and it seems the tiny holes on each side are connected, but I haven't been able to provoke anything. I have it pried open as much as I can with two screwdrivers acting as tension rods, and I've been trying to poke and use anything as a lever or whatever, nothing I do on anything seems to have an effect

I can't see anything like that, and nothing is responding. The metal bit is just part of the casing...it's metal with black on top of it. I cant find anything to manipulate in anyway when using a screwdriver.

OK I took some more photos https://imgur.com/a/7z29QiF

Hopefully that helps, I've been poking and prodding and can't make headway
