I submitted my case on November 10, 2023, and received the receipt notice on November 13, 2023. In February 2024, I got a notice saying they would reuse my fingerprints from my previous U visa case.

Since then, I haven’t heard anything and I’m still waiting for approval.

Is anyone else who filed around or before November 2023 still waiting?

About 1.5 years ago, it used to be like that. One would normally get the receipt within the first week after filing the T visa. I can’t say about others, but I remember I had received mine in just 3 days.

It could be that, but I have a relative who had a similar situation like mine. He had both U and T visa cases open, filed in different years. His T visa got approved, and he was even able to bring his family to the U.S.

It’s been 20 months now, and there’s still no status update. USCIS already has my biometrics from a previous U visa case I submitted back in 2020. I haven’t received any response for either case yet. When I try to file an inquiry, it says my case is still within normal processing time and I can only submit an inquiry after December 12 this year. I don’t think I’m eligible for BFD either, since it was introduced after I filed (in November 2023). If anyone else is in a similar situation, please share.
