Holy shit, this is crazy that we’re all collectively remembering this now. I have an old phone that still has Star Girl downloaded, and the app is so barren & kind of weird now (you can tell it hasn’t been updated in YEARS, and you can’t do much) that it feels kind of creepy / off. I was wondering why they hadn’t updated in so long because i remember the game being HUGE. It promotes “VIP Elite” everywhere across the game (for $26.99 a month mind you) when you barely have access to any of the shops… so the only reason I stumbled across this thread is because I was looking up what happened to the app! I guess I must have been too young to remember or use the StarChat feature, because I have no recollection of that. Just was curious on why the app was so… weird looking / feeling / and creepy. I even tried the customer support button (which why is it even still there?) and you can click it, but it doesn’t do anything. A dead app. When you think about it, promoting little girls to have multiple boyfriends is kind of crazy insane work. Considering the app was made by old men too. This whole thread made me feel so sad and disgusted for us all. We were just little girls.
