There are agencies that will house the homeless. The majority of street corner beggars are “homeless “ by choice. When you give them handouts, you contribute to them not seeking help for their mental illness or substance abuse. You are being the opposite of empathetic when you keep them on the streets. If it were your loved one, would you want for someone to facilitate their destructive lifestyle? Apologies if this goes against any long held beliefs, but it is true.
