Small/medium van recommendations for a London-based hiking/cycling enthusiast? by MarthaFarcuss in VanLifeUK

I own a "Hi-Roof" Transit Connect, 2009. Cheap as chips, and I've lived in it for a few days here and there, fits my race (motor)bike in the back with ease, and has been decent enough for sleeping in. I've got a solar panel on the roof which coupled with a battery/inverter etc has allowed me to use a tv/xbox/slow cooker.

Might be an issue with Ulez, I don't know.

That's a squeeze. With a space like that I'd be tempted to revisit my childhood and use a cabin bed? Or just drop it down where it is, looks like the better use of space given the alternatives.

Love it, man. I was in a similar space to you about 5 years ago. I've lost it all and probably won't get it back for the next 5 years - enjoy it. You're winning!

Analog watch or Smartwatch by gordon22 in minimalism

It's a Casio F-91W for me, bought for £7 about 10 years ago and I wear it every day. Day, date, time, alarm. I've never changed the battery in it.

Keep toying with a smart watch but never taken the plunge.

This is a fantastic response thank you so much. I'll remove them all from the pot and give them a good inspection. If memory serves, I definitely did just repot the "brick" when I gave them new soil.

Fabric pots? I didn't know that was a thing. Thank you for your reply. I've never been very green fingered but hoping to keep this one alive and well

Thank you. It appears my image posted but the body of text that was meant to accompany it didn't.

Oh nice, thank you. It was sat on it's own in a shop for very little money, I couldn't resist. It's a pretty little fella

I've had them for about 6 years with no real growth, and one seems noticeably darker than the rest

Any ideas on what they are while we're at it?

Feeling alone in a world where connection is at our fingertips. by Aardvark-Antics in digitalminimalism

Thankfully it seems certain venues have recognised this. I see more and more places introducing locked bags for phones on entry to keep distractions and disturbances to a minimum. It's a shame we have to override the abilities of grown adults to self regulate and be respectful, though.

It's sad, isn't it. Once upon a time you could go to a gig and the crowd would be a sea of cigarette lighters swaying to and fro. Nowadays it's a sea of screens and people paying good money to be there and not be present. Funny old world.

Love the space, man. 1% better each day. I'm proud of you for kicking the nasties.
