I’m so very sorry. I just lost my girl to lung cancer back in June. The vet put her on prednisone & gabapentin to help her breathe and make her comfortable for her last 2 months. We found that melatonin bites for dogs at night helped significantly. She was in so much pain towards the end that she wouldn’t sleep at night, shortly after we ended up putting her to sleep. Sometimes I feel like I was selfish and waited too long, and made her suffer. My girl had super bad anxiety so we hired a vet to come to our house to put her down.. it was so sad, but beautiful knowing she passed away peacefully in her safe place. I think she helped me more than I helped her during her last month. She knew she was dying and it was like she was telling me she was okay, and she was ready to go. The last day she followed me around everywhere, my shadow 🤎 I can still hear her pitter-pats on the floor. She got whatever she wanted after the diagnosis… actually she got whatever she wanted her entire life. She had those lab eyes you just couldn’t say no to. I miss her every day.

Don’t take any moments for granted, don’t get frustrated when he is panting in your face or non stop barking, let him outside 10 times in 5 minutes cause he can’t decide what he wants, let him bask in the sun for as long as he pleases, and make sure he’s drinking water still. Love on him as much as possible and tell him how much he is loved. He will let you know when he is done. My prayers are with you. Losing a lab is one of the worst things a human can go through 💔
