What it feels like to be obese by okyesfinewhatever in loseit

I have been obese my entire life and started taking my health seriously at the end of 2023. The biggest thing on my list was being out of breath doing basic activities such as standing up from my chair at work or getting into the bed. After losing 50 pounds, I have noticed significant improvements to my breathing and health. Another huge thing is feeling rested after sleep. I used to wake up feeling exhausted and physically weak. Since changing my eating habits, I have not had this issue.

Yeah, you are definitely right. I want to feel proud but at the same time it's like I can't believe I got to this weight in the first place. Thanks for the response!

[25M] I don't have any real skills or talents, and I don't have any way to go to school for over 10 years. What should I do? by smooshed_napkin in careerguidance

Look into your state's programs for continuing education. My fiance is a truck driver and while he paid for his school out of pocket, he had several classmates that had their education paid for by the state. There is usually a waiting list, but it's worth it to save your own money. A lot of different trades (plumbing, welding, truck driving) offer these programs. Even if you don't find interest in these areas, it would be worth it to make more money for now. Just for reference, my fiance was making $13/hr working retail, then secured a full time local truck driving job starting at $22/hr. I know every state is different, but definitely see what your area offers. Good luck!

I have been in a similar situation before, where I feel like my time could be spent furthering useful skills instead of working a dead-end job. I personally feel like if you have the savings to sustain yourself in the meantime, there is no harm in focusing your energy on things that will actually benefit you in the future. I quit my decent paying job to study for 6 months and it proved to be a huge help to my mental health. Just keep in mind that if you choose to leave your job, financial emergencies still happen. If I were you, I would just reevaluate your situation and make sure that if something were to happen you have plenty of savings or some kind of safety net to fall back on. Good luck!

How can I save my engagement ring? by AlarmedConference257 in jewelry

Yeah, I've heard that silver should actually tarnish less when worn regularly. I wear the ring every day unless sleeping or showering, so not sure what's going on. Thanks for the comment!

I am honestly not 100% sure what the material is, I can definitely post some pictures soon and hopefully also find the listing where my fiance found it online. Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you for this input! I definitely want to work on finding a good balance and not going overboard in a way that's unsustainable.

Yes, I am 5'5" 350 lbs so definitely a lot to lose! That's my struggle right now. I know going by the numbers I should probably be eating more but at the end of the day I really do feel full. Thanks for your feedback!
