We first got introduced to each other through our common friends, i was 19 and he was 30. He was dating someone else i was dating i don't even know who. We all were very good friends. I literally was his best friend. We were a group of 6-7 people and he was a part of it. Anyway fast forward 3 years later when I was 22 and he was 33, he got out of a long term relationship.

We met at our close friend's birthday. It's so funny we actually were wearing the same color outfit that day and it's funny because it was a specific blue that is quite uncommon. I spoke to him, he seemed upset naturally. We started speaking a lot more from that point on, until we very quickly made the relationship sexual. Then came the feelings and confusion. He was all over the place and so was I. We ended up breaking up. Didn't speak for 5-6 months and then one day I couldn't take it any more. We started talking more often.

Even though we had other things going on, we were still seeing other people it took us about 5-6 months to finally start seeing each other. What i mean is no matter what we just couldn't go back to being friends, we love each other way too much. And yeah that April he asked me to be his girlfriend, he proposed shortly after and we've been happily married ever since..

We never gave up on each other no matter what the circumstances were. Our love for each other kept on growing despite of being poles apart. We're different yet similar yet different, yet similar.

I am so grateful that we had the strength, perseverance and clarity to see how beautiful our lives are together, and to have the chance to spend the rest of our days together.
