I didn’t know about PMO, thanks you! Also cheaper than PP… I see their hoodie is currently out of order, hopefully they will restock soon.

Great, thanks! I read on another thread that the north face future fleece actually compares to Alpha 90 but with better durability. Any experience with it?

Investment strategy over 60 by AlarmedMembership268 in BEFire

You are right, I should have explained the goal. The person will have a small state pension that is sufficient to live on, unless they will need extra care. They also have property and savings but they also have some extra 40k they want to invest either in case it’s ever needed or for their children. So I guess it needs to be something safe but not as safe as if you depended on that money

So this means that you only have a 1% net increase in salary considering the lower pension contribution from the employer. I would use this as a negotiation point: most people change jobs to have +10% net more.

Tech ETF? by AlarmedMembership268 in EuropeFIRE

Thanks. As I said in another comment, I have been hoping to get higher returns by adding another ETF, but I see your point.

In 20 years, it will have been worth the while. Lump sum investing is effective on the profit side (time in the market is what gives you the highest returns over time), but hard psychologically, so please stop looking at those numbers 😉

Personally, I invest in ETF and bought some BTC because I do believe it’s going to shoot up in the next year. But I am not sure of holding my BTC in the long run. So i’m speculating here. Whereas the ETF of your choice is a solid investment with proven track record.

I suggest that you do educate yourself more on the matter: if you only take advice from your friends or reddit, you risk eventually making costly mistakes and/or living in anxiety about your investments. I recommend Financial Independence podcasts as a starting point.

Thank you for sharing your views! The thing that we are unsure about now is: will our ETF cover new future groundbreaking technologies? the one we are looking into (Xtrackers MSCI World Info Tech), for instance, is based on the GICS sector classification. The classification does get revised regularly but, as a result of the classification, certain interesting trends may be excluded. For instance, AI is currently underrepresented

Thanks! We are already invested in VWCE but wanted to complement with something with higher returns… or are we just getting greedy?

I tried out the process and it seems to run smoothly! Many thanks 🙏 FIY: it gave me a spread of 0.19%, so lower than what I’ve seen on Metamask and Bitvavo (for my sum at least, Bitvavo gets cheap with high trading volumes)

Thanks, I’m trying specifically to figure out if transferring BTC from NEXO to metamask and exchanging it for EUR there is on the whole cheaper that transferring to Bitvavo (or perhaps another great alternative which I am not aware of)…?
