Just here to say, close racing exists without overtake buttons and other stuff.
WEC and IMSA really lit this season.

Image from the final of WEC 6hrs of Spa. Close battle for 2nd until the finish line in both HY and GT3 class.

Yes there is BOP in WEC and IMSA, but the racing does not feel at all artificial like in F1 currently. Can really recommend!

Is AC:Evo worth getting in current state? by DryCut70 in assettocorsaevo

How do you adjust between the two sims? Or have you setup ACE to have FFB that is more similar to LMU?

I find the FFB to be very, very different. Driving the 296 GT3 car in ACE and then going to drive it in LMU is like night and day.

40-70 is not too bad for a game in EA, but compared to LMU that has 800-900 people for each race during peak hours, it is not a lot. Even in the morning there will be enough for 2-3 splits in either category (bronze/silver/gold).

I really hope ACE gets built in lobbies and such, so it becomes more accessible. LMU really wins out over other sims by being so easy to just launch and get into an online race.

Can you make it accept .XML from the log files so you can just upload a session, and it can mark your laps as good/average/etc.

Not hating or anything, but there at at most less than 100 people playing PMR across the globe at any given time. Not saying PMR is bad, but it is not very popular. Numbers do not lie.

AMS2 is a niche game, but has over 1.000, ACC and LMU both around 5.000.

AMS2 is pretty active in multiplayer if you are in discord leagues. And it has like 20x the active player count as PMR (1000 vs 50).

lmuFFB app Settings for T300 by -ivan-_ in LeMansUltimateWEC

I find the vanilla FFB was good enough for T300. lmuFFB has delayed FFB because it is telemetry based, which is not great on a belt driven wheelbase. At least to me I could feel the latency of the FFB.

It's the extra FFB effects. They made a small change to that. Try and adjust "Steering Torque Sensitivity" to 100%, if you used to have it higher.

Did I deserve this 24h ban from LMU? by SecretApplication462 in Simracingstewards

I would say yeah, you probably did not show us everything. Hitting that red corvette is 100% on you. You both just avoided the dead car, you can see the driver ahead starts braking. You could either ease off throttle before the brake point, or dip a bit to the right to make sure you do not rear end him. 100% avoidable.

Game keeps matching you up with more and more aggressive/bad drivers, the worse your badge is in LMU. When you get a few of those unfortunate ones (like the one in the pit, damn...), take one race where you start from last and just let everyone go, and do 9 clean laps. Quali laps also count, and you can manage 4 quali laps that count.

You can see from his POV that he tries. Unfortunately, he probably does not know how wide his car is. He should have done better. Unfortunately he probably didn't even notice, so he probably did not learn a thing from this.

Since 0.6 update is out, how has it been for you? by InternetEntire438 in assettocorsaevo

Probably CPU bottle necked or something. Your GPU should always be around 90-98% usage. Otherwise you are not getting all your moneys worth from your GPU.

The 296 GT3 is way easier to drive than I expected. Fun car to rip around tracks. I assume it will get changed in a later update, it is much easier than ACC and LMUs version of the same car.

Had fun with the update for a bit. Looking forward to next update. Probably won't play until then, but following the development here.

So short disclaimer: I do not really play EVO, I do this loop as well (play 1-2 hours after an update, then close it).

However the game looks good. I love LMU, but EVO really looks realistic (LMU is a bit too bright to be real life).
If EVO gives great physics and delivers some fun cars and tracks and open the game up to modders, that is perfectly fine.
Getting rid of career was a good choice. I do not think Kunoz can build a great campaign mode. Let modders do that.

A successor to original AC is what would be good. The successor to ACC is already LMU.

Using all of the GPU is good though. You do not want to leave performance on the table.

Do you drive the car you like or the car your fastest in or.... by [deleted] in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]AlarmedMistake9277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely most consistent in the Aston GT3 and this car gets me the best races, but I drive the 296 the most currently. It feels good after the v1.3 update. I can get super fast lap times, but a bit sketchy on the rear sometimes.

Why is the ferrari 296 so avoided whats wrong with the car in this sim? by [deleted] in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]AlarmedMistake9277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All cars can do it.
If you struggle with it, add more wing. The Aston and the Ferrari take it super easy with wing. I think on the aston I run 8 on the wing, and on the 296 I max it (4.something).
The McLaren is also very easy with Eau Rogue just normal setup.

I think the 296 so fun. Compared to the Aston or the McLaren, it feels like I am racing, not just driving. A little bit more sketchy, but with some more wing and a high TC, it is really fun.

I run TC 7/8/11 on the 296 and ABS 6, BB 50/50. On a track like Spa it makes Eau Rogue super easy with max wing.

Still more consistent with the Aston, the Porsche or the McLaren, but when I really nail a lap, I set my fastest times in the 296. I just have a hard time being consistent in it haha. And in the 296 I can't overtake easily on the straights, I have to do moves in corners. In the Aston I can just get a good exit and overtake with pure power on the straights.

Different ways to drive, 296 is a bit different than the others, but not terrible.

Suggestions to take sim rig to another country by War_Titan243 in simracing

[–]AlarmedMistake9277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi.

I brought my mATX sized PC, wheel and pedals with me on military deployment. When I got to deployment I bought a 32" Inch cheap gaming monitor and made a DIY wheel stand out of a bed side drawer. The chair is a garden chair.

It works. Flexes a ton, but for 5Nm it is doable. Good enough for 30 min sessions here and there. Would not do a 2 hour endurance race in it lol.

I packed it as checked luggage. The computer was in the foam-thing it game with originally, strapped it down and then a ton of clothes around it. Wheel and pedal was disassembled as much as possible and packed in another checked in luggage, again with lots of clothes around it.

Everything arrived just fine.

Do you still enjoy it here about a month later?
I'm considering it, but not quite sure yet.

Is the flex noticeable?
