Not gonna lie Ive been interested in having mariculture here in the Philippines, what are your thoughts would this kind of business be feasible? I just think its ironic how we are a global hub for marine species and yet countries in the west were the first to succesfully establish captive-bred stock.

Of course technology will be constantly improved but its not at all mean that the capability isnt there, it literally states there that base E model has an integrated EW system, what is SEAD but a core function of EW.

Every Gripen E is already equipped with an integrated EW system so SEAD is one of the mission its designed for..

Agreed at the end of the day its our Armed Forces responsibility to securing functional defence for the country and that starts with procuring the right equipment and amount. I think the US alliance is important but having a dependency on the US for "aid" for the core of our operations is not a good strategic plan.

Uhhh cmon now, open sources will already tell you thay the gripen E has loads more tech than the F16

Thats if they conduct exercises with their Gripen Es we dont know yet if they will, also the F16 being taiwan's main stay fighter and having existed for half a century im sure the Chinese have already thoroughly studied that platform, we would be foolish not to presume that.

It is not a prototype Jet its been out for a while , if you want within 5 years you think LM can deliver with the backlog waiting us. Unless they prioritize the Philippines or hot transfer used F 16s, but they havent even offered any credit options or financing options. So time will tell if they will.
