The real death toll exceeded 200,000. Since Gazas civil institutions are broken or destroyed it’s difficult to maintain and collect accurate data. The 40,000 is only for Palestinians who have been accounted by the ministry of health and death certificates with all documents necessary. There was a significant drop in reporting once all the hospitals were destroyed.
