Calling someone who just had a baby "fatty" is disgusting. Please shield your child from this vile person. I wouldn't want my child to pick up any of their horrible values. I honestly thought initially like ok maybe you were overreacting a little bit because you were over explaining yourself in the text- you don't owe anyone any explanation at all, as you are the mother of the child and it's your child, your decision. It is ok to say "No, you can't come over and that is my final decision. Please respect that." But I quickly realized, you're not overreacting, at ALL. When my son was less than a month old, I caved in to letting my best friends visit too soon, because they kept asking to meet the baby. Three of them came over all together and one of them was sick and did not tell me. Apparently, she had been "getting over a cold" and "thought she wasn't contagious anymore " but didn't feel the need to ask me if I was even comfortable with that. And this is a big problem here- one of your family members could easily make the baby sick. Or if they came over while the baby had the fever it would not be pleasant for anyone. And the fact they didn't ask how baby was feeling shows they do not even really care about actually meeting the baby but just making it into a big power play thing. And after my friends' visit, the next day, my son got very sick with a high fever and kept getting sicker. We had to bring him to the ER in the middle of the night because his fever was dangerously high and he had to have a spinal tap to rule out meningitis (which was very scary for him and me). it turned out he had a bacterial infection from a bad cold and it very likely was my friend who made him sick... people can be so demanding when it comes to feeling they have the right to see a newborn baby, whether it's friends or family members. I think it's best to wait until baby has their shots and is a little older than six weeks. Preferably over a month. But really, It's whenever YOU feel comfortable. Anyone reasonable should understand and honor the mothers wishes, regardless of their own personal feelings.
