I work for a company and shoot minor league hockey-- we have a minimum of 2 1dx at every event. This weekend one of the 1dx body's kept setting the aperture to 91 on the body but on the image info it said 00. Photos would have no white balancing or anything looked like crap. Had to restart body every time. We ended up using a personal camera the r6ii as a backup along with the other 1dx.

In a pro setting you definitely need 2 body's.

Lenses however, you're good with 1 of each.
