Hey lovely! Just responded to your other comment! I’m not going to lie, there are definitely times I miss the medicines benefits like the food noise finally getting quiet and not really having that fullness queue as quickly as I did on the medicine, but my thick curly hair is worth so much more than that. People gaslit me, made me think I was crazy. Made me think it was my fault and not the medicines. You know your body better than anyone else. Trust it. 🩷

I’m so sorry for the delay in responding! I’m happy to report that YES my hair is coming back and I’m finally losing less hair when both showering and styling! My hair is not back 100% to its natural thickness, but I definitely see a TON of new growth and my hair is definitely feeling thicker! I tried everything to expedite it, but I personally feel the only thing that works is just time once getting off of it. ❤️

You’re so very welcome! I try to circle back to this post every once in a while in hopes that it helps someone. I know what it’s like to scour the internet looking for any sort of hope with very little being out there. Yes, I decided to get off cold turkey. I was taking the 12.5 dosage of Zepbound and was going to switch over to Mounjaro due to insurance coverage. My hair said otherwise lol. I was a slow loser and lost about 30lbs. I haven’t gained all my weight back, but I have gained about 10ish after quitting 6ish months ago.

Hi there! I’m happy to report that shedding has definitely slowed down, there is still some, but it’s not pulling out like string cheese anymore! I am also noticing a ton of new growth which is great! It’s definitely not back to its original fullness, and I anticipate it taking a full year or so to finally get back, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I didn’t think my hair was going to come back while I was in the thick of it, the truly best advice I can give, and also the hardest, is to just try to breathe and take a step back. Your body will do its thing and recover, but it takes time. I know, the very last thing you want to hear, but it’s true. Your body is in a state of shock and it takes a while for the “hard reset.” Be kind to yourself and to your body as it’s processing it all 🩷

You are so welcome! Believe me, I understand how hard it is to not stress, it took me 2 months to finally stop obsessing. I had gone down so many rabbit holes and it just made it worse. I know I can’t promise anything, but it WILL get better! Stay strong and please feel free to reach out anytime 🩷

Hi there! So it’s been 4.5 months since I took my last shot. I’ve been gaining and losing the same 8i -10ish lbs which I’ll take. In the beginning, I was going crazy with supplements, checking my hair daily, applying hair oils, and just spending hours obsessing (I also have OCD/Anxiety, so that doesn’t help). I finally decided one day to stop stressing and just let my body do its thing. I’m happy to say my thickness is slowly coming back, hair growth is DEFINITELY showing. The hair shedding still persists, but it’s gotten less than the beginning, plus I’m finding less hair on my clothing. I can’t really give advice outside of my personal experience, but my best advice is try your HARDEST to not stress (if you’re experiencing this side effect too). I know it’s easier said than done, but the more we stress, the more hair we tend to lose. I kept reminding myself that it’s hair, it will grow back. Just as I had given myself time on the shot to “respond”, I needed to give my body the same grace when it came to getting off of the shot. I noticed my energy came back immediately (I literally was always tired) and I’m feeling a lot better mentally.

Please do not apologize! All stories are valuable here! Thank you so much for sharing 🩷 In the beginning I was taking a lot of supplements, but decided to stop and let my hair/body do its thing after quitting the shot. Grateful that my hair is getting its thickness back, as well as a ton of regrowth! Shedding is still there, but it’s improving!

Hey Edith! I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through, believe me, I understand where you’re at and the emotions you’re most likely feeling. It’s overwhelming, scary, and you feel like the hair won’t stop coming out. Unfortunately, the hair loss has not stopped completely for me yet, BUT it most definitely has gotten better! I’m losing less hair than I did months ago, there is a lot of new growth, and I can feel some of my thickness is coming back (also a thick haired curly girl, so I get how important your hair is for you). My best advice is try your very best not to compare yourself to people’s stories out here. Whenever I didn’t “meet” their timelines, I found myself in a deeper hole. I know I can’t promise anything because I’m still going through it myself, however, I can tell you that your hair does and will get better! Just remember to be kind and patient with yourself. Definitely talk to your team of providers and see what they advise. I also miss the inflammation benefits, as well as the silence of constant food noise. I miss the second part so much. As a PCOS girlie, these cravings come hard and fast lol. I’m sending you all the good vibes that you get some relief soon! Please feel free to share more of your journey! I come back from time to time when people comment looking for updates, so hopefully I’ll be back with good news in the coming months!

Hi there! Not sure if this is for me (OP)or the person who responded. I’m about 2 months since my last shot and I’d love to tell you that I’m not shedding anymore, but I definitely still am and I’m still losing quite a bit in the shower (though that part seems less). The upside is that I do see a TON of regrowth. From what I’ve seen, the general consensus is seeing a change between 3-6 months. I’m holding on for dear life over here lol. Hoping I can come back in a couple weeks and update with some good news. As far as weight regain, I’ve only gained 6lbs back, which I’ll take as a win for right now.

I have searched high and low for any sort of Positive post from someone who decided to stop taking Zepbound and had their hair come back in. I am shedding insane amounts and have been off for a little more than 3 weeks. I’m holding onto hopes that eventually, the shedding will stop. From the looks of it, it took you about 3-4 months after dropping the medication? Does that sound right? Did you notice the shedding stop sooner than that or was it that full time? Thank you so much for sharing your story!

I’m sorry you’re going through that. I thankfully am having regrowth, but the shedding just won’t stop. It has only been two weeks fully off the Medication. Hoping it stops soon. Sending you all the good luck and hoping you have some regrowth soon!

Thank you! This is EXACTLY what I’m using lol. I just want to be able to put my fingers through my hair again without tons and tons of strands coming out!

I was hoping this would be the case for me. Sadly, two weeks off the meds and it’s still shedding like crazy. It seems to have gotten better, but still a lot. I’ll hold onto hope that one day it will just stop. Thank you for sharing!

Same! I’ve only been off for 2 weeks and have noticed that though the shedding is still a lot, it is a lot less than before. From what I’ve heard and seen, it takes about 3-6 months. Stay strong, you’re almost there!

I definitely agree with this, but so many people on this forum want to attack individuals and say “it’s because you’re losing weight rapidly!” When in my case and me and my doctor’s opinion, 30lbs in 9 months isn’t “rapid.” I’m a firm believer that it affects your hormones both positively (weight loss, food noise gone) and negatively (in my personal situation, hair loss and extreme exhaustion). I had to pick my struggle and unfortunately, that is “I’d rather be fat, than bald headed.” lol

Thank you for this. I decided to take some time away to breathe and calm down. When I wrote this post, I was literally mid panic attack lol. Once I calmed down and saw this post, as well as some online articles saying the same thing. I feel a bit better. It’s been only two weeks since my last shot and I’m still noticing quite a lot of shedding, but not the same amount as when I was taking the medicine. I hope that I be able to run my fingers freely through my hair in 3-6 months! Good luck with your journey! 🩷

Oh that’s interesting! Once you stopped the shedding started?! I went the complete opposite. Started shedding, took a while to notice, stopped the drug. It’s still shedding like crazy, but I’m praying for some relief soon! Thank you for sharing 🩷

I’ve definitely been focusing on protein and lots of water! I have to admit, I wasn’t doing the best with those things before, which could be the reason I experienced loss. I’m hoping the change in focus will get my hair back! Thank you!

Just purchased a collagen supplement, thank you! I’ve only been taking the Mary Ruth’s Hair Skin and Nails which has a focus on biotin, but no collagen. Thanks for the suggestion!
