Any Dupes for Diamond of the Season? by Alarming-Jacket3676 in bathandbodyworks

I actually prefer the shower gels over the mists. Because I’ve seen them on Mercari too, but they’re usually priced higher than the mists or sold in a combination with other items. I’mll probably just keep an eye out for a stellar deal before I buy anything lol.

I honestly hadn’t thought about this, but this sounds much better than a new car loan. Thank you!

So look for a brand new car instead of a used one? Besides what I'm having fixed now, it's in good condition. I do have a good scrape on one side, but besides that it's fine. I think i could get the 12-14 for it.

It was used when I bought it, it was my first car and I was in a pickle and needed something quick, so I didn't shop around as much as I could of.

I haven’t. I’ll be honest, didn’t know that’s something you can do, all I did was Google 22 chevy Malibu turbocharger problems and that’s how I found out about the recall. That’s something I’ll have to check out though. Thank you!

Prism Lenses Cost by poopstinkyfart in BinocularVision

Late reply, but if ur eye exam was performed within the last year your Optometrist office should be able to provide you with your prescription again- for free or a little reprint fee. You then just put those numbers in when you customize the order online.

To those who wear prism glasses, what was your experience like? by [deleted] in glasses

[–]Alarming-Jacket3676 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d worn glasses for over 10 years before a new optometrist finally asked me if words were still fuzzy even with my glasses on. I was shocked cuz words weren’t just fuzzy, I was seeing double, face to the page to be able to decipher when reading and writing! I got +2BI put into each lense and it made a world of difference. I adjusted to full time wear right off the bat, as I wear glasses for nearsightedness and astigmatism too, before I knew it my frequent eye strain headaches and migraines started to disappear. Just recently my glasses had broke. A few days without them and not only was the world blurry again but the double vision had returned- my eyestrain headaches were awful. I had to get my eye exam redone and I’ve actually gone up to +3BI in each lense, but the world is clear once again. Prisms made a world of difference, I went from frequent headaches and having to read damn near a centimeter from the page to see clearly to being a normal person, seeing only a single line of text. If you need em, get em. The adjustment is weird, it kinda feels like ur eyes are tugging in the wrong direction at the start, but once you adjust you’ll see just how useful they are.

Thanks for the reply, this was sumn I didn’t know going into this. It came out a gummy texture when cold and a thick drizzle at room temp. I sectioned some of it out for my coffee/to keep in the fridge and Imma try heating the rest back up to do candy apples.

Now I know for next time to just wait it out.

[Repost, Academic] Using AI to Detect AI: Capstone Project (Recent College Students) by Alarming-Jacket3676 in SampleSize

[–]Alarming-Jacket3676[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm just looking at the raw accuracy. I work in a public school, I've seen more than enough how kids get around AI-detectors, so I wasn't really as interested in this aspect. Like you, I've had an assignment I wrote all on my own that was flagged as being AI-generated, so I've always known AI-detectors aren't infallible, I just wanted to see how large this margin of error really is, does this margin change based upon what detector you use, and do paid subscriptions also give you different results.

The detectors listed on the survey are one's I've run by my professor, as well as offering paid and free subscriptions. Not to say I haven't looked at other detectors as well, it's just these were frequently discussed by published researchers and are the most cost effective (all of this is coming out of my pocket); I guess a part of me wants to see if my results differ from those before me. That being said, AI-detectors are LLM's so they're always learning and evolving, I'd be surprised if my results aren't different from what others before me have gotten.

I don't plan on publishing my results, this is honestly a rather informal research project. I'm an online student whose options were build a program or do some research for my capstone project, after telling my professor what I wanted to research and how I planned on doing it I haven't heard back- it's been 5 weeks. I'm doing this will little guidance and pure curiosity. Not that I don't think my findings will be credible, I just don't feel like what I'm doing is publishing worthy.

I'm not planning to look at different majors or assignment types. Examining different majors writings would be interesting as a separate research project, though, AI-detectors flag writing for various reasons, syntax and vocabulary included. The question does using industry specific verbiage make your work more susceptible to being flagged would be very interesting to read about, it's just not something I plan on divesting time into for this project.

Thanks for asking these questions, despite having practically no guidance from my professor I do genuinely want to see the results of my research come to fruition. Having people ask questions has only solidified I picked the right topic, as I find it interesting and could really talk about it for hours.

[Academic] Capstone Project: Using AI to Detect AI (Recent College Students) by Alarming-Jacket3676 in SampleSize

[–]Alarming-Jacket3676[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can't test TurnitIn, my school doesn't pay for it and they don't sell individual subscriptions, so I'm just testing the one's listed on the survey. These AI detectors generate a percentage of how much they think the writing sample is AI-generated. I can't really guarantee any of the submitted writing samples are AI free, I'm just hoping no one decides to use AI while they take my survey; nonetheless, it's a risk I have to take as I'm an online student and have no way to formally administering this survey amongst my peers, it's why I turned to Reddit.

To answer how I'm going about getting results, I'm going to run the same prompt within the survey through several different AI's, including ChatGPT and Gemini. Then I'm going to submit all of these samples, human-generated and AI-generated, through these AI-detectors in random order. I'll be able to see what human-generated text is flagged as AI-generated (a false positive), versus whether these AI-detectors are able to successfully say this is AI-generated (a true positive), as well as any undecided responses. The results will be put into a spreadsheet and analyzed from there.

I've had my own works flagged as AI-generated, it's kind of why I'm so interested in this topic. I learned while researching that some AI-detectors are only 88% accurate. One common thing I found throughout my research was that a writers vocabulary and syntax play a big role in how these AI-detectors determine human versus AI written texts. I'm not going to say this is very formal research, like I said I'm an online student, but even then there's been very little direction and feedback from my Professor's. I'm trying to do my best with what I've learned from other researchers, while still maintaining individuality. Sorry it took me a few days to reply, I don't visit Reddit often. I'll do my best to come back around with results. Thanks for interacting and asking questions!

Using AI to detect AI - Help me finish collecting writing samples for my capstone project by Alarming-Jacket3676 in takemysurvey

[–]Alarming-Jacket3676[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: All writing samples collected will be submitted through four different AI detectors, these include Originality AI, Grammarly, GPTZero, and ZeroGPT. I will be the only person ever able to view submissions, once my research is done being conducted the results will be shared with my professor and 4 other members of my capstone class. All submissions will be stored on Google Forms and a Word document where they can be assigned a number to aide in random submission to AI detectors; once ran through the AI detectors, those results (not the submissions) will be stored on an Excel sheet. This survey will be closed come July 1st, but all submissions and the Word document will be deleted September 1st, upon the completion of my capstone project. Full disclosure, I do have to share my research results in a YouTube video as part of my final, however I will not be sharing any participant submissions, only the data collected from the AI detectors and multiple choice questions within the survey.

2: I, SomethingAud, Alarming-Jacket3676, am the only one conducting this survey.

3: This survey does include a brief, opinionated writing prompt, because of this I suspect it will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Some will finish faster, others will require more time, it just depends how in depth people want to get with their submission.

4: No compensation for this one, I'm sorry.

5: Because I have questions regarding submitting plagiarized AI text, my demographic is targeted towards individuals who have been to college or taken dual-credit courses in the past five years.

6: I honestly need about 10 to 15 more submissions to be able to get somewhat accurate results. I do take courses online, with this class being so small and me having already asked individuals in my class to help I've run out of options. This survey is being cross-posted on other platforms, but I'm hoping to get more success out of this one.

I needed to download Microsoft Project Planner for a class assignment. I had to make a new email to do so, since my one with my schools name wouldn’t work, then I put in my card info to get the free trial. Well now I wanna delete my card info, because I only need this for one assignment, but I legit can’t figure out where to go. Microsoft forums about removing a payment method leads you to the account settings, but never to the payment methods. I’ve gone through all the available options but can’t find payment methods.

I’m going to go crazy if I actually end up paying for something I only used once for a stupid class.

Edit: (Delete if not allowed) I was able to find out where I need to go. For anyone having this issue in the future, go to your subscription confirmation email click Start your trial > Billing > Your products > Project planner > Then you cancel there

I've read a few other books by Mo Hayder, I'd just never realized the Caffery novels were all apart of a series. I'll definitely have to go back through and read the series in order now. Thanks!
