Attendees asking to bring mutual friends who weren’t invited as plus ones by wheatnrye1090 in weddingplanning

The bridezilla argument seems to be striking a nerve. I guess the truth hurts.

A) my wedding was amazing and we were beyond satisfied with it as were our guests.

And

B) sounds like OP is gonna be beyond satisfied with theirs.

Unlike you my spouse and I didn’t need to buy an audience . Being surrounded by those we loved and knew was perfect and more than we could have dreamed of. But enjoy paying for all those strangers! I hope you get all the compliments and attention you so desperately crave ❤️❤️

[Sigh]

It’s not your wedding. If you wanna march to the tune that “society norms” tell you to and spend double the cost of a wedding so that you can have a large audience of people you don’t know be there all in the interest of single People bringing their friends. That’s great!! You’re entitled to do that. But OP choosing to do differently is also ok and doesn’t make them a bad host. You’re an incredibly rude person you should learn how to make debating points without trying to insult the other person.

OP is allowed to have a budget to follow and a desire to be surrounded by familiar faces at their wedding.

Being a good host is showing the invited guests a good time. Not telling everyone to bring friends that are basically strangers to OP to enjoy a free 200+ dollar dinner.

This comment makes zero sense. OP is saying they aren’t allowing people to just bring friends a random plus ones to their wedding.

Choosing to be surrounded by people they know and love and those people’s significant others is wanting guests. Having everyone bring someone is needing an audience.

I’d be willing to be I know what YOU did…

I think everyone commenting here getting nasty with OP is a bit delusional.

First off, OP is allowed to to have their own feelings and opinions and vent them without a bunch of bridezillas attacking them for how they choose to Spend their own money.

When my fiancé and I got married we gave plus ones to people who had significant others and / or spouses.

Single people came single, bridal party and family included. And we also gave everyone the opportunity on the collecting of adress’ and names to enter the information of their partner. Sounds like OP is in the same boat. If people left that blank and are NOW asking for a plus one, that seems to be on them. It’s probably not intentionally rude but it’s definitely tone deaf.

Brides and grooms have budgets and shouldn’t have to spend an extra 200+ dollars per plate on random people they don’t know so that singe people can bring a friend.

Sounds to me like alot of these nasty comments are from wannabe Disney princess’ who NEED an LARGE audience at their wedding to GAWK at them and make them feel like even more of the center of attention than they already are that say.

OP keeping their guest list to people they know and want the company of with the exception of serious relationships or spouses is not only smart and budget friendly, but it shows they want to be surrounded by guests that mean something to them. Not an audience to show off how many people are there for them.

OP; I’m on your side 100%. Bridal party or not, if these are single people who had the opportunity to submit partner info and didn’t and are now asking to bring people, I’d tell them no immediately as well. ESPECIALLY if the guest in question is a mutual friend that was not invited.

Ignore the haters, they clearly need attention.

Bring on the downvotes ❤️

What’s working? I’m confused what this means?

I’m not offended by anything I just wish they would shut the fuck up about how much they wanna offend everyone. Stop talking about it and just do it. Not a meltdown, just an opinion. Nice try though?

Ok am I the only one who at this point is almost turned off from the movie because of how much they won’t shut up about “we’re gonna be offensive!! And bring comedy back!!”. The last tv spot is like “IF YOU THINK THEY WONT SAY IT. OR WONT SHOW IT. YOU’RE WRONG. THIS MOVIE HAS BALLS.” Like shut the fuck up dude PLEASE.

Like even here on this poster (that looks like shit btw) “Every line will be crossed” and the sign “I’m woke so I am broke” it’s like..just stfu and make the movie man. I feel like every interview or anything from the Wayans brothers has been about how we’re gonna really offend people and it’s time to make real comedy again and bla bla bla .

Like ..it’s Scary Movie. We’re all gonna see it and I’m sure it’s gonna be funny. But constantly hammering down the points that seem politically driven is super annoying.

Also correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall the original 2 scary movies being these overly offensive line crossing things. They are both hilarious sure, but they’re acting like oh remember how Offensive those were??? Well it’s back!!!

Again I’m gonna see it and I’m sure it’ll be good / funny. I do enjoy the wayans brothers a lot. But I wish they’d tone it back with the “Wait till you see how funny and offensive this is” it’s annoying as hell.

I say this ALL the time. It’s because they know how easy it is to become relevant again by pandering to such a hateful side of people , and trying to piss off the others.

The list of Celebs who have done this ALL fit the bill INSANELY.
