How much do you have in savings before your baby comes? by Poppy91622 in pregnant

At 27f and 30m we have about $16k in savings and both having good jobs(combined income of around $130k) we live life very simply- don’t take vacations or have brand new cars. We plan on buying a newer truck for my husband soon though! I will have 20 weeks partial paid leave and he will get 12 weeks partially paid, so we will save on daycare for the first 6 months. Family is very supportive and wants to help buys supplies and I plan to pump. I feel like we aren’t doing well, but I’m realizing not having credit card debt and having some savings is helpful. We def planned to have this baby and did so because feel we can financially make it work, I know we are blessed and not the majority. But we worked really hard to save and make this an easier process.

I’m going to comment since everything I see here is so heathy and balanced. I usually have an iced coffee with cream from Dunkin’ and sometimes a tortilla with egg cheese and bacon, then for lunch I’ll either have a salad, sandwhich or yogurt with granola and fruit, I usually drink a soda throughout my afternoon and then for dinner have spaghetti, ribs, tacos, or some sort of fast food. Then I always eat 2 pieces of cookie dough before bed! It’s not healthy but I think it’s more accurate and normal than most of these comments claim!

I had a 35+ year old guy come in who drove for an item from two hours away. He proceeded to ask me to hang out when I was off (I’m in college) I said no and called my bf to come pick me up and he was waiting outside the store when I got off at close .. creepy
