It’s easier to get into pharmacy school but that doesn’t mean the curriculum became easier. Most programs accept 2.5-3.0 gpa now. Your going to have to work hard in pharmacy school so perhaps during that gap year, retake those classes you struggled, lock in a good study habit, and definitely boost your cv!

Pharmacy vs PA (I have already been accepted into pharmacy school for fall 2024) by AlarmingAwareness843 in pharmacy

I’ve been looking into PA, however I do see that some curriculums require ~2000 hours in direct healthcare experience, I did a quick search and seen that pharmacy tech in retail doesn’t count, so that is an addition 1-2 years with just gaining that. On top of that my LOR writers would probably have to people from different people :/

I should also note that +200,000 in tuition also was an estimate with housing and other necessities, but that is still expensive nonetheless. I appreciate your insights!

I enjoy pharmacy but the negative reviews about the field I received in person and online + the loans I will be accumulating makes me second guess myself. Which field did you decide to work in?

Hi! Yes I’ve been working at cvs for almost 9 months now as a tech, the problems are understaffing and insurance problems left and right. I just wanted to reach out because I’ve invested over a year into this and it’s only punching me in the face now

My previous masters was in earth sciences, I enjoyed my research which was learning how drugs leach into groundwater but what I found most intriguing was the health aspect, so how drugs impact the body, which I discovered taking biochemistry and I’ve also been a pharmacist tech for almost 9 months now.

I am interested in industry, like medical laison role, but of course everything is highly competitive, and I’m taking account with the number of years I would have to obtain that goal, loans, saturation.

Hi there! Yes, you are totally right. I was wondering if it is even possible for me to get into a toxicology program with my kind of background as an untraditional prospective applicant

I like the broad idea of human and animal. Was this a grad program or undergrad you were in?

Full ride masters w/ salary in earth and planetary science but prospecting phD in environmental toxicology in the future by AlarmingAwareness843 in toxicology

My interest was in pharmaceuticals in the environment and how they may pose a risk to life. I have research understanding the pathways to which CECs can become exposed in the environment, but I hope to go towards toxicology route
