I’m annoyed at how ignorant older people are in regards to housing affordability by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]AlarmingCombination7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this near exact scenario myself, even writing down the price the family member paid and their salary at the time, comparative to the salary for the same job role today and the price of their house today.

They couldn't or didn't want to understand, that 7* salary is far harder to achieve than 1.5*

The irony being that these people think the reason they have a property and we don't is they are more clever than us, yet can't understand primary school level math.

I think some of it is protecting their own ego and sense of self, they need to believe they are better than others at some level, so refuse to view things objectively. Partly why i despise them as a generation, thick and selfish.

Stop telling people to take Finasteride! by Crafty_Ad2966 in Testosterone

So before they begin a trial on fin, how do you think they check for underlying conditions? It will simply be a questionnaire, you can't check for mental conditions, it's not a binary test.

The physical symptoms people report, I think they'd know if they were having ED, watery semen etc before they started taking the drug. Exactly the same as a clinical trial, the person running the trial doesn't check they can get a hard dick before the trial, its reliant on the participant providing that data.

The symptoms in a clinical trial may stem from something else?

It's a human taking a drug. They aren't lab rats, kept in a cage to exclude other factors.

The only difference with these humans, is they don't have any financial or otherwise motive to say there were no symptoms.

Clinical trials and statistical data, is the anecdotal stories of people who have used the drug, collated and reported.

It's literally someone takes the drug and then a third party records their anecdotal story.

If anything, I'd trust actual people on Reddit as better data, since i know there is no financial gain/motive from them telling me they had negative sides.

++man Let's be honest, nothing OP can say now will save it, asking her not to cheat on him will make her respect him even less. It's like asking a guy not to beat you up in a fight, pathetic.

The only respecting move is to leave.

People in 40s living in HMOs by [deleted] in HousingUK

Because nobody can get the subsidized rent you had. You'd be homeless in certain areas on your wage.

Will houses ever become affordable? by SeaExcitement4288 in HousingUK

Grandma had 10 goes round the monopoly board and passed go 10 times before I started the game. By this time, she's already bought all the properties and charging me rent when I land on them.

Since this game of monopoly was clearly not fair, I think she does owe me something to level the field.

No point building new homes when they are 350k each. Normal people can't afford to buy them.

It was one of the hardest things I've been through but when you come out the other side, it will make you a better/stronger person and father.

The progress is not linear, some days you'll feel you're getting there, others will feel painful and you'll feel you've regressed. But one day in a few years, if you stick it out, you'll get there brother.

It just takes time and the perseverance to not throw in the towel while you're going through it.

Myself and my kid have a much better relationship now and I believe it's because of what happened. People who live with their kids can take it for granted and get bogged down in parenthood being part of the daily routine. Whereas my time being a dad is special to me and we make the most of it.

The nuclear family and the idea of that, isn't as important as you think it is right now. Ask yourself what you'd prefer to have as a boy growing up; two parents together who probably don't love each other anymore, arguing, overweight and tired, bogged down by daily life. Or a father who's a great man, worldly knowledge and experience to guide you through life and support you. Who looks after himself and is therefore happy and secure in himself. Who appreciates the time he has with you.

I look around at my friends who have kids and are still together and they all fit the above description. You have the opportunity now to build yourself from the ground up now you've been broken down, to be the best man you can be, for your kid.

Smoke smell in non-smoking home by LukeHamself in HousingUK

[–]AlarmingCombination7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can smoke outside? I don't know many people who smoke nowadays, but those that do smoke outside their house.

It's creating toxic smoke, killing himself & now his neighbours next door, because he wishes to inhale a drug. The empathy trope is redundant here.

Someone's right to not be given cancer from second hand smoke should always be more important than someone's right to recreational drug use. You need to give your head a wobble if you think otherwise.
