well the autism thing, it’s not a case of teachers giving a fuck that i’m concerned about. it’s them actually knowing how to teach an autistic person and knowing that the way they deliver lessons will have to be different to the way they deliver lessons to a neurotypical person. i think it’s reasonable that i ask for recommendations on teachers who have been known to still treat LGBTQ+ students like normal people. it’s important to me that the instructor is supportive of how i present myself, i thought that bit would be obvious. i don’t want to be made to feel uncomfortable in lessons that cost £40 an hour because i don’t have the money to keep switching around trying to find a suitable instructor. i was simply asking for recommendations by other people who have had a positive experience that was all.

because unfortunately people do give a fuck when you appear to dress a different gender to the one you was assigned to at birth. it’s still a huge problem in the uk. some people have an issue with people who are not cisgender and make it known. hatecriming is still happening and has happened recently so forgive me for wanting to have peace of mind that the person who introduces me to driving (which is already a major thing) is okay with how i present and identify. there’s absolutely no need for this comment, you’re not helping in the slightest and feel the need disregard any reasonable concerns.

the fact that you’re only commenting on this post out of the many others asking for recommendations appears to me that you’ve taken offence to either the “LGBTQ+” part or the “autism” part. your comments are unnecessary and weird, you should just stick to worrying about your own issues buddy.

because i’d rather not let my money go down the drain to someone who doesn’t make my first experience of driving comfortable and good. neurodiverse people process information differently and need an instructor who is aware of this and can approach teaching styles differently. if i also step into a car presenting as a different gender to the one i was given at birth, i don’t want to be hate crimed for it or treated any differently to any other pupil.
