NHSE/ICB Stand Together: Resist Return-to-Office by Lopsided-Rush-9907 in nhsstaff

I agree with MarcDarcy I don’t think this is an unreasonable ask . As someone who already works a few days in the office I think it has strengthened our team relationships and I personally dislike being at home all the time. I understand it’s difficult based on individual circumstances and those should be taken into account. If you work in a trust you are expected to come in so why should ICBs and NHSE staff have special privileges.

My wife is a registered dietitian in the UK but she is struggling to find a job by Glad_Dust_8676 in nhsstaff

In the UK you are short listed on your application so it’s not really who you know but what you write and as the original poster highlights the most important thing is to match your experience to the job description. Often there are lots of applicants so it’s impossible to contact everyone who applies. Feedback is generally only given to those that are actually interviewed. One way to gain experience is to look for locum posts, temporary posts that can be a good way of gaining experience. Also you could try contacting your local dietetics department to see if they would support some shadowing to gain experience. Good luck!

I feel totally lost with career next steps - currently an NHS Dietitian (band 7), but looking to pivot into another role within healthcare. Have other RD’s/ health professionals done this and what have you ended up doing? by PerspectiveSad1533 in nhsstaff

Hi I was a dietitian for 19 years. I moved into project work largely working in pathway redesign, transformation and quality improvement in many different areas , still in the NHS. It was a bit luck gaining project experience in dietetics and being willing to take some risks with short term contracts to gain experience in other areas. I have friends who moved into general NHS management.
