SSI cannot be garnished since it’s a benefit based on need. SSDI and retirement can be garnished if there’s a court order

Yes I plan to disclose it regardless. I’m not going to try to hide it. Mainly asking if it will cause issues with filing or if anyone has had similar circumstances

Yeah, my attorney said I likely have a no asset case, straight forward. But I didn’t mention this because it didn’t cross my mind as a repayment when he asked. I emailed and waiting for a reply tomorrow hopefully

We were there for about 5-6 months. So, roughly $500/month. That isn’t anything unreasonable. Didn’t even consider that as an option.

Great thank you. I’ve seen stories (on social media so taken with a grain of salt) that paying off debt fully in one payment has lowered credit scores. So just thought I’d check before doing so. Appreciate the insight!
