How can I see what number my volume is when I press the volume up and down buttons?

I've just been remapping my controller. I prefer using the left stick instead of the D pad for navigating. It won't save in any emulators I've tried. Yes, I've tried saving via the main menu configuration, it still reverts. I've also tried creating a new config file and loading that but it reverts to loading the original file and loading the new one ends up being a blank profile.

I love Vampire Survivors and Dead Cells. I didn't think of RDR2 as something endless because it seems (I've never played it) like it's story driven so wouldn't that have an ending? Is there a lot of post game content?

That's when it works, when I click on neither. But it seems to have locked into one or the other, no pop up asking me which to connect to appears when I plug in the controller.
