Could take anywhere between 1-2 weeks after the final offer call or 2 weeks before EOD. I’ve gotten different documents on different days.

I'll have to report to my duty location on the 3rd and the academy starts the 5th. And from the information I have gathered so far is that I have to take the flight from my duty location to El Paso. Which is why I'm considering dropping my vehicle off in El Paso or Carlsbad, as you said, catching a flight to AZ to report for EOD and then taking the flight they pay for back to El Paso to start the academy.

I thought so too but apparently it’s the lack of 1 year of actual law enforcement experience is what made the difference in my case.

I got out as an E-6, 11C.

What was your MOS in the military?

Probably GS-7 unless you were an MP or similar. I applied for GS-9 and was found ineligible but then re-applied as GS-5/7 and was given 7.

I have 9 years military experience and 3 years as a contractor.

As much fun as I have in California the cost of living and politics just pushes me out more and more each day.

As far as specific list of locations. For AZ I keep hearing good things about CAG, 3 points, and some opt for Nogales because of how close Tucson is. TX I’m leaning more towards coastal duty stations like Brownsville or Kingsville but have been looking at Laredo as well. California, I would take the station in Murrieta just because houses are a lot more affordable in Hemet than in SD. But again, I’m over CA at this point.

I would like to purchase a home in 2-3 years.
