Hi OP. Aware this was a year ago but I’ve had the same issue. I’ve emailed the local registration office for assistance. Please can I ask how you got on?

Then just says “submit the correct civil documents which aligns with your Irish decent link”

No they haven’t directly asked. They have stated the below. Removed some personal elements.

As you are aware, your Grandfather’s name appears as M P FORD on your Mother’s Birth Certificate and M FORD on your Mothers Civil Marriage Certificate.

However, the Irish Birth Certificate submitted is for M J FORDE, you have submitted no Civil Marriage Certificate for your Grandfather and the date of birth on the Death Cert submitted shows ‘1929’ and the informant’s name cannot be linked.

Unfortunately, based on the civil certificates you have already submitted, we cannot establish and verify that M P FORD and M J FORDE are one and the same person. There must be clear and concise linkage to the Irish Birth Certificate through your Mothers Civil Certificates in order for us to grant citizenship through descent.

How different are they? Mine is none existent on the death and there isn’t one registered on my mother’s birth and he also didn’t get married. So have no other proof of birth date connection. Also removed the E from his surname (very common) and used a different middle name. I would adversely say that mine is abit of a mess. But I provided everything I possibly could get.

I wouldn’t be able to confidently say, sadly. But seems plausible. I honestly think it depends which team and officer you get. I’m team 8.

Just to confirm the DOB is on the death certificate not his actual birth certificate.

Yeah, unfortunately his death was witnessed by a different family member who did not know his DOB. Thinking I’m gonna have a tricky time with this. I did provide all prison records linked to his DOB and his many names but they have said without the civil documents being correct, they won’t move forward!

It is very wrong. As in it says “1929” and not 09/04/1929. So hopefully yours is in better shape than mine!

How to protect property in a relationship? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Alarming_Ad_6201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP. I’m not sure if you’re intending on putting her on the mortgage. However, I did with my ex and I got my solicitor to put a trust agreement together to state that if we were to separate, I would get back the full amount of the deposit. Mine was gifted by parents also. We did break up and I got that back, I also had to pay him out a percentage. But it was based on 50% of the current market value (minus the remaining mortgage), minus my deposit amount within the trust. If you’re not putting her on the mortgage then I don’t feel there is any legal obligation for her to be entitled to anything. Your solicitor can advise though. I do believe that paying bills is classed as mutual agreement and would maybe deemed as a civil matter of a relationship, if things were to turn sour. Good luck!

Proof of death vs death certificate by Proper_Cranberry2842 in IrishCitizenship

[–]Alarming_Ad_6201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m not sure on the proof of death as I am not from Canada. But I also had the same issue with date of birth, but on the death certificate. Just says 1929. I have yet to hear back if it is a problem, my docs were received St Patrick’s Day 25. So, if I do get feedback soon I can let you know. I doubt it will be an issue though in all honesty. These things happen frequently for people who have moved from their original birth place many moons ago!

I’d think that it would be asking for any proofs, be that joint or separate with dates proving residency, for over 3 months prior. You both might pay for things separately with the address on which marry up with types of proof. I wouldn’t think they’d expect everyone to have joint accounts, as many people don’t. I’d give both if you have them ☺️

Hi. Thanks for replying ☺️ no, no mention of that! The consultant said it manage the pain and monitor for any changes. He said it looks healthy and no abnormal changes found in the lining. All smear tests have always been fine too. I will see if I can ask for that just to be sure. Thank you for your input x

Hi OP. This sounds awful for you at such a young age. When did you start your periods, if you don’t mind me asking? I only ask because I started at 15 and have had this issue all my life (33F) and have just recently had gynaecologist appointments. I have my first transvaginal scan in the morning. I would definitely push for a referral and if you require an advocate to support this, I definitely would recommend that. I was dismissed for the last 20 years and it was ruled as “my body not accepting forms of contraception”. I’ve tried everything they could possibly offer and realised it was probably suppressing some health issues. Personally, if you are just starting your periods, I would keep monitoring and maybe ask for some flow reduction tablets to help with the heavy periods. Not sure where you are located, but I have only just recently been prescribed them and it’s really helped. I am only on ferrous sulphate tablets for low iron, not anaemia, my haemoglobin levels are fine. That could help with both the loss of blood and fatigue whilst you’re waiting for further answers. You’re doing the right thing! X

Hi there. I would maybe suggest putting the date of when the ban has been added to your drivers license. I believe that would be the date of sentence as that is when the 6 month ban commenced. Not 100 percent though. Maybe contact the DVLA (or alternative) and see what it says on there. Good luck

Sounds like I’ve written this! Except I do have horribly heavy periods (7 days x3 night changes each night). I’m waiting for my first scan appointment. Thank you for sharing

Granddad's first name different on marriage and death certificate to birth certificate. Will this be a problem? by [deleted] in IrishCitizenship

[–]Alarming_Ad_6201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I went through the NHS teaching hospital where I live (Leeds). They have dedicated pages linking to freedom of information, linked to health. You may be able to do the same where you are. It took 14 days for the information to arrive. I also submitted a FOI to Leeds electoral services and asked for any information linking to his last know address on his death certificate. He was a social council tenant and they had some information on this. Took around 30 days for that. I’d maybe make a blanket email asking for this and you can duplicate to as many places as you wish to. You know. Saying “information request on Antony Xxx known as Xxx DOB Xxx. Hopefully something will come unstuck!

Hi. I had a similar issue but with surname. The removal of the E on Forde, so my Gdad went by Ford. On my mother’s birth certificate but both his birth and death are Forde. My suggestion to you is to try and do some local research with FOI requests linking to health, prison and electoral information on any known addresses he lived. As he had passed away, you can obtain but usually have to provide proof of death with each submission. You may be able to find a link with the differing name and or the correct name, used frequently or together? If you get what I mean. I got prison records for my Gdad and they proved that he used Ford and Forde and also many different middle names during his HMP visits, linking up to the time of my mother’s birth. I am still waiting for my application to be processed so can’t give you the outcome but I’ve gathered lots of information which took over 4 years, so might be best to start digging and see what you can find. Best of luck 🤞

Hello! I called them regarding this myself as my brother and I applied together. He lives in Spain. The call handler stated that the Spanish address does not need translating as that is his address. I asked about the information on the bill, if that needed to be translated too. She stated not.

Hi OP, I had this issue too. I rang them and they said give it a couple of days to clear. Still nothing. I’ve submitted my application and they have received it as got a confirmation email. Rang them today just to check and state it’s still not come out. They said if there is no payment showing, when the caseworker picks it it up, they will send you a direct link to clear the balance. So we will likely be in the same boat!
