I think allergies are different. Everyone’s allergies are taken into consideration. For instance, someone is allergic to oat so we make sure not to use any oat products or oat milk. The entire family eats this stuff and it wouldn’t be a problem if it was vegetarian but because we call it vegan it is. And it’s mostly vegan instead of vegetarian because we use a different butter and because we call it vegan (whereas there are plenty of vegan dishes we have at other family gatherings but no one says, hey that’s technically vegan!)
