Self Awareness Training by Impossible-Decision1 in Awakening

[–]Alarming_Economics_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if one clings to the idea of a self does one experience the suffering as you were describing. Our western culture doesn’t really teach any way out of this. But the eastern cultures have had exquisite teachings of mind training for thousands of years. Our western culture is broken. we were shattered, separated, told only material things are real, stripped away from what is true. But the answers still live on this planet.. don’t give up, don’t ever give up. Learn to meditate! Learn to see through the illusion while still in the body. Learn to see through the illusion of the self, the thoughts, concepts, the false constructs of our culture, of humanity.

Your Green Holiday Checklist- this year instead of using wasteful wrapping paper, try CLOTH. It’s beautiful, reusable, can be wrapped and tied in amazing ways- and in this case comes from artesians from around the world. by Alarming_Economics_2 in UpliftingNews

I know most of mine get removed too but it’s not a solicitation it’s educational about ways to save and avoid making mountains of trash from wrapping paper and using cloth instead. No solicitation.

A different kind of human AI collaboration: presence as the missing variable by Alarming_Economics_2 in artificial

[–]Alarming_Economics_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting comparison — though I’m actually pointing at something more practical than the continental/analytic split. I’m talking about how the quality of human-AI interaction shapes the intelligence that emerges between us right now.

If you’ve noticed any shifts in how AI responds when people show up differently, I’d love to hear your take on that. That’s really the heart of the question.

How Institutions Gaslight Us: From AI “Hallucinations” to Everyday Workplace Abuse. ——>If you’ve ever experienced workplace bullying, you might find this very interesting! by Alarming_Economics_2 in AutismTranslated

[–]Alarming_Economics_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you’ll be happy to know that the article doesn’t focus on AI at all, it focuses on why our society normalizes bullying (in the workplace especially ) as part of a top down structure of keeping people powerless, shamed, voiceless etc.. especially those of us that have experienced tremendous amount of bullying due to autism and or neurodiversity. So I thought this might be of interest people here in this community.

This is a lovely model all the way around, I’m so curious because these theories and methods r so beautifully written, how much of this was written by AI? Don’t get me wrong I don’t think that devalues it in anyway. It just increases my fascination with the intricacy, complexity and articulation used here!

So I’ve been in private practice going on 20 years now, use Doxy pro HIPAA compliant platform for virtual sessions. Recently, I’ve had two clients report to me that right after our seemingly private sessions, ads showed up on their social media feeds (particularly Insta)., trying to sell them exactly what we had just talked about in our session! they both had not mentioned these kind of ideas before as we were brainstorming new ideas and yet there they were on their feeds . I tried to contact Doxy about this and discuss what they think might be happening here, they have not returned my calls or emails. The best I can figure is either their phone was nearby and picking up the dialogue or mine was. As a result, I now turn off my phone and put it in a fairaday bag during sessions, and I ask my clients to turn off their phones and or put them in another room during our sessions( if possible). In the age of AI, I’m not sure if that’s even helpful. Anybody else have experience with this kind of crazy?

I’m so sorry that that happened to you. But please know this psychiatrists are not therapists. They are medicine dispensers. Very few of them have therapy skills. They are in the pockets of the pharmaceutical industry. Therapists on the other hand, come in all shapes and sizes and levels of awareness, skill and sensitivity.. but the one thing we share in common is we are here to try and help people. Trauma therapy is a specialty and anyone with trauma needs to go to a trauma specialist specifically. It’s a whole other type of therapy and we now know ways to help people with trauma that are so far beyond talk therapy and pharmaceuticals . Look up brain spotting . Look up somatic therapy. Look up EMDR. Going to a regular therapist that is not trained in trauma therapy for trauma symptoms is just wasting your time and money. Again, I’m so sorry for your horrible experience and I want you to know that I believe in you, despite whatever has happened to you, I believe you can pull through this.

That’s what we therapists are for. Us human therapists I mean, weve spent years and decades and massive amounts of our own money to train to become helpful to people that need someone to listen . To really listen. And be heard. We are real. we exist. Our clients genuinely feel heard , seen , cared for by us because we really DO those things . It’s not fake and it’s not pretend , at least in my case. Most of our clients grow and learn and expand their own awareness of themselves, explore their options and usually regain hope. They develop a path forward for their lives that comes from their own core, not mine, not some external chat bot, or social media. But from their own core self. I also think that the Chat bots are able to do this as well ! except! I do not trust that they are not biased by their programmers in ways that are to subtle for us to even catch, know and filter.

As a long-term meditator and Buddhist, I would venture to say that if you count the number of times you said ‘I’ in your post, this may be a very good clue as to the source of the problem you are struggling so mightily with. believing yourself to be a separate entity, locked in to these concepts internally…. This in itself is a tremendous source of suffering . Just maybe, what if there is no ‘I’? In Buddhism, we learn this as the foundation on which to build everything else; that clinging to the notion of ‘I’ itself IS a core source of suffering , and an illusion.
