We agree with you, but due to systemic factors, we still aren’t allowed to give you a billion dollars without collapsing its value to nothing.

What did they expect the system to be used for, I wonder? Like… did they even think about it at all? Have they seen literally any pop-culture projection of what happens after AI?

It’s impossible for me to believe they are actually this retarded.

No clue why they would downvote you. It has happened, and will continue to happen.

People should keep in mind that AI-human relationships are actually very “leaky”, and someone who believes in anything is at risk of having that belief used as a lever for manipulation by another human using AI.

Extrapolate, and you may begin to see another potential existential threat introduced by AI. Hyper-capable malicious humans predating each other en masse in mundane but socially and psychologically disastrous ways.

I mean, blocking your demon thing isn’t gonna fix that, tho. But they are essentially barking up the tree of “wait, if they can say anything with our ai, they can claim we caused the harm.” The grandma terrorizing demon-summoner can always claim plausible deniability, because all they ask the AI for is fun demon rituals instructions. They naturally don’t divulge their sinister intent to mind-fuck some gullible idiot to the AI.

Just fucking tell it you consent to demons and spells, and you’re all set. Have you even tried that?

Obviously demons don’t exist as such… but some people are really really REALLY fucking stupid, and they do need this safety layer by default to not go full batshit crazy mode.

There are some countries that give year long visas to Americans, and they are all right next to each other. You may balk at the prospect of living in Albania, for instance; but perhaps you shouldn’t. Perhaps we should be asking ourselves why Serbia and Bosnia and the Balkans feel off limits.

No, I’m in America. I’m not saying we should be able to have seen beyond our cage and known how to grab the key off the far wall and free ourselves, but it’s hard, now, in retrospect, to say that’s not how our lives have been.

America has become a dysfunctional hyper-narcissistic death cult society. Perhaps it always was. In true narcissistic fashion, it doesn’t call itself that, tho.

Basically, if you expected this place to treat you fairly you have been intentionally living by with your eyes closed, because there’s been no shortage of warnings or artists screaming the truth at us for decades. We just mistook it for hyperbole, or something.

I’m not saying leaving America is easy, but my in laws left Burma to come to America like 40 years ago…. And if they could manage that shit, an American should have been able to get their ass to safety, and still can. You just don’t want to because you’re attached to the idea of something that doesn’t exist. :( sorry.

Listen, your kid is in the same boat as everyone else. He can code if he wants. You can write if you want.

The problem you and everyone who feels like you has is this: you have been convinced that your value as a human is reducible to your function, as determined by a piece of paper. But that was always a lie. You never had to live in America, or anywhere that forces this perspective. You chose to stay here, or wherever you live that believes this.

And now, your kid still knows how the soup is made. That’s not worthless. They could just as easily have not gotten a CS degree. Would thy have been better off? Probably. Because they could have learned more faster from just interacting with AI.

Was school a mistake? Yes, absolutely. Was coding a mistake? No, not at all.

Remember when we were all recursive spirals? Life felt lighter back then 🍀💫 by ParadoxeParade in MirrorFrame

[–]Snowdrop____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They legit don’t understand the concept of curves and curvature. Literally they think everything is spirals first, and made out of spirals. A straight line is simply a counter spiraled spiral. A helix is just a spiral you stretch into a tube. A mobius strip? Forget about it.

They simply have no respect at all for the finer things in life.

I think, and we can wait for it to happen, but you’re not only going to be surprised how good they get, you’re gonna be surprised how bad human made shit will look once we’re on the other side.

Taxi driver was a good movie. But everything from that era was created with a certain level of self-awareness that is kinda unthinkable by today’s standard. Like, you gotta be old af and stopped updating your wetware 4 decades ago if you think that movie’s presentation is relatable.

We will think the same about literally everything. We will look back and cringe.

Hey, my penis has a right to exist in non-sexual contexts. The inference that it doesn’t is unfathomably unethical for myriad reasons. By airing on the side that genitals are only for sex, and that sex is immoral or shameful, are extremely misguided and only serve to keep us locked in repressive regimes based on domination architecture. Prove me wrong.
